1980 Jeep CJ Laredo Additional Info:

Super clean very original 1980 Jeep CJ-7. It might be a long time before you see another one this nice, and this original. Here's the story: My Family were Jeep Dealers for 48 years in Moorhead, Minnesota. During my younger years, I had six CJ's from 1978 to 1983), and totally loved them! I'm 65 now, and a few years ago, I decided I'd try and find and original Jeep CJ-7 for my "retirement toy." I found out "originals" are virtually impossible to find because almost all of them have either been beat to death by now, and the few good ones that remain are usually high mileage rebuilds that are repainted, filled with Bondo to hide the rust, and often have hidden damage like cracked springs or even worse - a cracked framed from HD off roads trails. Stuff that is very hard to detect.
OK, A friend tells me a longtime vintage car dealer in Orange County California has a nearly mint original Jeep CJ-7, with only 26,000+ miles. Luckily I got there soon enough, as I haven't seen a CJ this nice in 15 years. I had it shipped to North Dakota where I live, and it arrived on Friday morning. On Friday afternoon my Doctor calls and tells me I have a very aggressive form of Cancer. So the Jeep has sat in my heated garage for 7 months as I've undergone treatments. I'm only selling it so that when my time is up - my wife won't have to mess with figuring out how to sell it. It is truly super clean, and it has lots of extras... including rare factory options like factory fire extinguisher and padded roll bars. The dealer I bought it from had signed a confidentiality agreement not to divulge the prior owner - but said he was a mega-rich "Hollywood type" who has about 50 cars in his all season warehouse collection, and finally decided to sell this one. The title and California plates are still with the Jeep, as I was in the hospital after it arrived. If you want more pictures or details, please write. As an ex- car dealer, I know there is always some risk in buying used - especially - online. But I assure you, this Jeep is the real deal... it's kind of like a well-kept barn find. But way better. Because of my situation I'd like to sell quick, so I might listen to an offer if it is reasonable. I will happily provide my name and phone number to - I am a known business owner in Fargo, you can trust me.
There are a lot of extras like high quality chrome trim, winch, nifty tow bar, deluxe center console, am/fm/cassette (may not work) and the HD carpet doesn't look factory original, it looks custom made and is better than factory & thick and clean. It has no smoke or musty smell - it smells fresh. Also, an old ex-Jeep mechanic friend picked it up and updated the brakes to disc brakes, and went through it inch by inch for me. He also put in a new HD battery and changed all fluids. It appears tip top and ready to go.
