1988 Jeep Comanche SporTruck Additional Info:

NO RESERVE! The first bid buys this truck.

Up for auction is a RUST FREE 1988 Jeep Comanche short bed pickup. These trucks are becoming collectable and I think this one is a PRIME candidate for a restoration or a custom 4x4 swap and build. I have tons more pictures including the under side and common rust areas I would be happy to show to a interested buyer. I purchased this truck from the original owner, he bought it brand new in Northern Virginia in 1987. It spent its whole life at one address and is very clean. It was in a fender bender in the90's and that is why the front clip paint does not match. The engine has arattle/knock in it that has been diagnosed asbearings and/or wrist pin. It runsfine and has good power and oil pressure but it does rattle and clack at certain RPM's, the engine should be replaced or rebuilt. It is a 5 speed manual and the transmission seems to shift fine anddrive well, I havenot been able to get it up to speedas I do not have it registered for the road. It is a factory A/C truck, the A/C does not currently work, I have not tried to charge it.The fuel gauge does not work. The tires have great tread but are older and dry rotting. The truck has many period accessories, most of which are OEM AMCsuch as the vent shades and mud flaps. It has a period aftermarket tape deck radio. I have been told this truck has a rare "three gauge" cluster unit in it. Any moldings or emblems missing inthe pictures arestill with the truck, I have everything except the left rear bumper step pad. Obviously the truck hasminor front end damage on the right front. Included with the auction is everything you should need to repair thisdamage sourced from a 1995 Jeep Cherokee: turn signal lens, fender, bumper, bumperbrackets, valence panel, and front inner fender stub and bracketsjust in case you need them, but Idon't thinkyou will.NOTE-The title is a clear VA title in MY NAME, however it does have a notification on it for NAM/TMU meaning the state believes the odometer is not correct. This is because when the original owner's wife passed he had to remove her from the title and when at the DMV he guessed at the mileage 155,000. So since the truck does not have 155 it has 147 I had totitle the truck as true mileage unknown to be legal and up standing.Ihave every reason to believe the mileage is 147 and the carfax report supports this also. But I am disclosing here now that it is on a Virginia TMU title. Please look at all the picture and ask me any questions you may have. I want to be completely up front and honest about this truck and find it a good home that will appreciate and restore or customize it and give it a proper life. I would keep it myself if I didn't have tons of other projects underway. As I said I havemany other pictures available. This truck will be sold AS-IS with a the Virginia title and bill of sale. I canmeet your transporter oroffer transport myselfin the mid-Atlantic for an additional fee, contact me. I also wanted to be clear when I say rust free there is obviously isolated scratches and spots some of which have surface rust. One such spot is where one of the toneau cover snaps was screwed into the bed side on the right side has a surface rust spot about 1.5in in diameter around the hole. There is no rust I can see in the rockers, floors, bed sides, doors, or anywhere else these typically rust.

PICTURE NOTES-

1. Thedebrison the bottom of the tailgate in the picture of the tailgatecrackis not rust, it is like bits of mulch and such. The bottom of the tail gate is solid andrust free.
