It doesn't get much better than this ALL original paint, one owner 1981 CJ-5 with 50,661 original miles. This is truly a one of a kind California survivor. 100% rust free since new without a spec of rust or repair anywhere whatsoever. There is not a single touch up spot or repainted panel anywhere on the Jeep still bearing its factory coat of paint .......and it looks amazing! The "copper brown metallic" (color code#1E) finish has a lovely shine with the most lovely patina (some really nice fading happening on the hood). The wheel wells and undercarriage are also all original paint and in spectacular condition (see pics). There are no dents and there is a small tear in the metal on the drivers fender approx 1/2 inch. Otherwise there are just minimal chips, nicks, scratches hazin, fading, etc. The overall appearance is outstanding and this Jeep gets a 10 for it's originality.

-The tires are still perfectly usable for now however we recommend new tires soon.

The interior is just as clean as the exterior. The original seat upholstery is near flawless. Front windshield weatherstripping/cowl-hood rubber is in great shape. The carpeting is excellent and the original dash does not have a single crack. The soft top (clear plastic windows) and soft half doors are in A+ condition.

Mechanically the CJ is superb. The 4.2 lt inline 6 starts right up and runs extremely well. The idle is smooth and steady and the Jeep does not leak, smoke, overheat or make any unusual noises. It has always been well cared for and properly maintained. The clutch is perfect and shifting through the 4 speed manual transmission is almost effortless. The 4x4 (with locking hubs) engages properly. All mechanical, electrical and climate control systems are in top notch condition. The brakes, (power) steering and suspension all feel great! Heater box is all in tact. All of the gauges show normal readings.

After looking at other Jeeps available for sale there doesn't seem much in-comparison to this one. Either they are fully restored and over done, moderately restored with inexpensive crappy paint and lots of over spray (painted undercarriages and engine compartments), or original and rough with lots of rust. There are few to none of this caliber

This Jeep CJ-5 is probably one of the most well preserved gems available anywhere, it is in outstanding original condition and it is hard to believe it is 36+ years old. You would be hard pressed to find another one this nice and untouched. A vehicle is only original once. This fine example is turn key and ready to be enjoyed now!
