1948 JEEP WILLYS-OVERLAND!

CIVILIAN JEEP CODE CJ-2A!

RARE FACTORY BLACK PAINT CODE WITH RED

WHEELS!!

Back in the 40’s it was very rare to find a Government Purpose vehicle built for civilian use. But some did slip through the cracks between wars and mostly soldiers that came home from the war wanted one for hunting, beach travel or just everyday use. This rare Jeep was actually produced for Civilian use. It started to be converted to a G.P. but you can see the pictures show the under paint is the original black and the wheel’s under color is red. You can go either way with this vehicle. It comes with everything you need to convert it to a Military Jeep or bring it back to its original luster. Either way, this vehicle is a rare find. It’s a factory CJ-2A code. All original plaques are attached to the body. Please read on to find out the condition of this vehicle and let us know of any questions you may have.

Exterior:

As you can see from the pictures this vehicle was sprayed military green. It wasn’t done right and you can tell it really wasn’t a professional high quality job. The paint is flaking off to show its true black color. And the red is coming through on the wheels. The body is very solid and straight. It has a newer fuel tank. The glass needs work. All in all, the vehicle needs restoration. Unless you just want to use it as is. There are 3 ways the next buyer could chose…..restore as original civilian Jeep….restore as G.P. army Jeep(which will come with plenty of parts to do so) or leave it and just drive it. Let us know of any questions you may have after viewing the pictures.

Interior:

There is not much to this interior. Basically, it just came with the basic necessities to travel. Everything on the inside of the Jeep needs attention except for the gas tank. It all depends on what you want to do with it. Please look at the pictures they will give you the best idea of what the Jeep’s current condition is and what it needs. Let us know of any questions you may have.

Drive-Train:

The drive-train is the 4cyl, 4x4 set up. It does run and drive but will need attention to make it an everyday traveler. The brakes do stop the vehicle but we didn’t get it past 5 mph. We just wanted to see it start, stop and run. If you purchase vehicle it will need safety check and service. Let us know of any questions you may have.

In summation….this Jeep is a rare find. Its not perfect, but could be right for you. The price is right and the possibilities are endless. It would be a great project for anyone ambitious enough to complete it. It’s a part of our Automotive History.
