1989 JEEP GRAND WAGONEER

The first luxury 4x4 SUV decades before the term was even coined. The Wagoneer pioneered the sport utility vehicle concept. In spite of the truck chassis and boxy shape it was more carlike than any other 4x4 on the market. The luxury of the Wagoneer set it apart and made it a family vehicle. One of the features offered on the Wagoneer that was unheard of at the time was the independent front suspension, ower steering, nd automatic transmission.

The 1987-1991 Model Years are considered the "best of the breed" due to the number of upgrades. These included the wood siding and modernized aluminimum wheels that lost there gold colored inlays in favor of gunmetal grey metallic. All exterior colors were now applied in two-stage base-clearcoat system. Finally, number of further improvements were made for the 1989-1991 model year series inluding a quality replacement for the earlier, eak prone air conditioning compressor. An interior overhead console was added. This functional console featured much brighter map lights, n outside temperature sensor and compass, nd an infrared remote controlled key-less entry system.
