This is a genuine 1965 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster. And while this is arguably the most attractive sheetmetal ever to hit the road, you can also see there is something much more going on here. That's because this vintage icon is a fresh build that was given modern fuel-injected Corvette power and all the best additions to handle this 485 hp upgrade. So it's time to dig deep into the details on the ultimate full custom build. ... The E-Type (ok, XKE if you stick to the USA designation) is the icon that tops many lists of the most beautiful car ever produced. Jaguar wanted to utilize the strength of the racing-inspired monocoque chassis. Today you can see that on this example, because they invested heavily in restoring the body. It was sanded down to bare metal; the body was precision fit; a new aluminum hood was fitted; and then an excellent application of modern blue was put on top. So this race-inspired design now has a sleekness that looks like it can cheat the wind. The bumpers and some trim was even expertly eliminated to keep this looking ultra-smooth, but the best brightwork still remains.
