1965 Jaguar XK Restomod Roadster Additional Info:

This is a genuine 1965 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster. And while this is arguably the most attractive sheetmetal ever to hit the road, you can also see there is something much more going on here. That's because this vintage icon is a fresh build that was given modern fuel-injected Corvette power and all the best additions to handle this 485 hp upgrade. So it's time to dig deep into the details on the ultimate full custom build. ... The E-Type (ok, XKE if you stick to the USA designation) is the icon that tops many lists of the most beautiful car ever produced. Jaguar wanted to utilize the strength of the racing-inspired monocoque chassis. Today you can see that on this example, because they invested heavily in restoring the body. It was sanded down to bare metal; the body was precision fit; a new aluminum hood was fitted; and then an excellent application of modern blue was put on top. So this race-inspired design now has a sleekness that looks like it can cheat the wind. The bumpers and some trim was even expertly eliminated to keep this looking ultra-smooth, but the best brightwork still remains. You see it in places like the delicate bar across the front end and the iconic wire wheels with knock-off hubs. Plus, it wouldn't be an ultra-desirable Series I XKE without bright surrounds on the shielded headlights. The blue folding roof has a terrific European look against the blue paint, but for true distinction, you'll want to take the top down. The black leather bucket seats with a perforated diamond pattern looks stunning. And this black and brown theme is carried through the center console, seatbelts, carpeting, door panels, and dash to deliver a thoughtful and uniform look. And because this build was completed only about 1,000 miles ago, everything looks absolutely fresh. There's a modern attitude with upgrades like power windows, cup holders, and an AM/FM/CD stereo w/Bluetooth. But this never loses that classic feeling - even the upgraded AutoMeter gauges have the classic Smiths look. You're going to love tilting the whole front section forward to showcase a truly unique powerplant. Despite the Jaguar name on the covers, you're looking at a fresh LS3 crate motor. This fuel-injected V8 is more advanced than what Jaguar was offering, but it has been installed with the kind of professional presentation that it looks like this belonged under the hood since day one. Of course, since this is an American V8, they couldn't resist a touch of American flair in this British car. So the you have polished components like the brake booster, alternator, fresh air intake pipe, and more. And with so few miles on the build, everything is fresh and clean, right down to the suspension details that are painted to match the car. More than just look great this was built to drive. The 4L80E four-speed transmission is as new as the V8. It was specifically built to handle the power of the LS motor, and at the same time, also provide easy overdrive cruising. And the famous Jaguar rear end that debuted on the XKE is legendary for being both stout and sporting. Plus, you have rack & pinion power steering, drilled & slotted four-wheel power disc brakes, and a fully independent sports suspension. So yes, this amazing custom is also great to drive. The sale comes complete with restoration photos, because you're going to want to document for others this Series I Jag's amazing transformation.
