1985 Jaguar XJ6 Additional Info:

Non-running XJ6 w/John's Cars Quarterbreed kit, car will need to be towed.

I've owned this XJ6 since 2003, installed Chevy 700R4 kit around 2007, car was rarely driven after the swap and was parked in late 2015 when it developed engine issues.

The Bad: paint bad, body rough, right hood/fender damage from deer, interior rough with mismatched colors, climate control stuck on full cool, tires shot but hold air well enough to load on trailer, right tank leaks.

The Good: cruise control was working when parked, fan and clutch replaced in 2004, cold start injector replaced, European intermediate wye pipe w/o rear cat.

John's Cars Quarterbreed kit installed around 2006 - block plate, flywheel, driveshaft, rebuilt 700R4 transmission, self-locking torque converter, speedo gear, neutral switch, shifter adapter, kickdown bracket, starter and all other parts supplied by or specified by John's Cars.

The kit, the rebuilt transmission, and the miscellaneous parts totaled around 1800 dollars, which was about the same as a replacement BW66. The 700R4 has a lower first gear and accelerates better than the BW66, but the 2.88 gears are a bit too tall and can lug the engine in high gear. John's Cars recommends a rear gear in the 3.2 or 3.5 range when using the 700r4.
