1987 Jaguar XJ6 Base Sedan 4-Door Additional Info:

The basics

1987 Jaguar XJ6 4 door sedan – This is the last year of the iconic Series III XJ model before Jaguar sold to Ford and changed the styling forever. This car was originally purchased from Chasson Motor Cars in Las Vegas, NV. I purchased it used in Las Vegas in 1998. Has been a desert car and garaged since I moved to Prescott, AZ

100,700 miles All original recently restored to nearly new condition. Everything works!!

Exterior:

One major defect In this model was the poor clear coat paint originally applied that would peel off. When it came time for me to repaint, I opted for a full body vinyl wrap and was very lucky to find a vinyl color that matched the factory color exactly. It has a nice metallic detail and is much more durable than paint and you will never have to rub, polish or wax again!! Beautiful. Exterior window rubber replaced.

Brand new set of Pirelli tires.

All body and bright work is in excellent condition with no rust whatsoever anywhere!

Interior:

The Connolly Leather seats are in new condition with no flaws at all. The remainder of the interior finishes are unblemished and the dash has been striped and refinished to it’s original walnut veneer color. If you look around the web for this model for sale, check out the wood dash pictures. You will see most of the wood has a golden oak look, this is because the British lacquer has yellowed over the years. These wood dash components were removed, old lacquer stripped and new polyurethane clear applied to the original walnut veneer. No cheap peal and stick plastic here!!

Two modifications from original were made here. First, a new sound system, starting with the Pioneer receiver/ CD player/ with Bluetooth and speaker phone. New speakers were installed in factory locations and a subwoofer was added under the passenger seat. The Brits were obviously not audiophiles, but if you are…you will be pleased with this upgrade.
Second, Cup holders were installed in place of the ash trays (out with the old, In with the new).

Both of these improvements were accomplished without modifying the original in any way, old parts (Radio and ash trays) have been kept in case one wishes to revert to 100% original, it can be done.

A custom set of sheep skin covers are included.

Under hood:

All serviceable/Tune-up parts have been replaced (all rubber, hoses, belts) Fuel injectors were removed sent out to a fuel injector pro, rebuilt and reinstalled. Most rubber vacuum and water hoses replaced with silicone. A/C system serviced with 134a and works very well.
