1957 Jaguar XK Fixed Head Coupe Additional Info:

If you are looking for an old Jaguar to behold in your garage and enjoy driving, and you don't mind a little of the work to finish it off, saving you a little money, this could be the Jag for you. Admirers are drawn to the color combination, smile at the wood dash, and are blown away by the general presents of this Jag. In the market place, these beautiful coupes are under valued. You and I know they are like Baby Bentleys. Then you recognize the fact that these classic XK's were built in the period of the 1950's, when Jaguar won Lemans 5 times with these tough engines and drivelines, beating the likes of Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, and Corvette. The twin overhead cam Jag six is a torque machine, with a great hemi cylinder head on top that breathessssss. FOR SALE: 1957 Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) Production 1954-57: Left Hand drive Fixed head Coupes 1,965 making it one of the rarest of the XK's from the 1950's. You know that a quality investment toy must be structurally sound and never wrecked. This Jag fits the bill. The car was painted approximately 12 years ago along with a partial restoration. It then sat untouched in a barn until early 2016. The car is 95% complete. Still needs a wiring harness (has partial home-made wiring harness). The wood needs to be refinished and a few missing pieces replaced. Needs back seats and and re-upholstery for the front seats and center console pad. . The car has been painted the factory Birch Grey color, the paint is in "nice driver" condition (overall good condition just not show quality). This car starts right up and runs, charges and drives around the block. This car recently won 1st place in the display class at a recent concurs event held in Carrolton TX, by the Jaguar Club of North America (North Texas Chapter). I have the chrome piece for the driver's side windshield and a box with misc interior lights and the wiper motor . The front and rear enamel Jaguar XK140 emblems are new as well as the foglights. Chome on the car is very nic, but with a little pealing on a rear bumper. The can idle for hours and never overheat. We recently serviced the Jag changing all oils and brake fluid and greased all fittings and the engine runs and sounds wonderful. The engine and transmission are not matching to this car, but instead to a XK120 which is basically the same motor. This Jag was originally an automatic and like many of these coupes, the gearbox was replaced with a Moss box 4 speed and has a very good 1st gear. There is already installed anew stainless dual exhaust and a new aluminum gas tank to the tune of thousands of dollars. . Tires are low mileage but showing cracks from age, and hold air well. The brakes were resealed 9 years ago and just flushed with new Castrol brake fluid.. The sheet-metal on this 1957 car is some of the best I have seen on a car this old. It was from California and new Mexico before coming to Texas, according to the previous owner. It has a clear Texas title. This will make a great driving and looking Jaguar to take to Jaguar Club and Antique car gatherings and shows such as I did. The purchaser will be responsible for transportation and all associated cost. This is a Jaguar to cherish....

There are a few repaired scratches and chips and tiny dings in the paint. Also note the firewall was painted with the motor removed at the same time as the paint job and is very nice! The Jag is still very presentable at car shows!
