1958 International Harvester Other Custom Additional Info:

For sale is my 1958 International A-100 custom 1/2 ton pickup truck, with 7' bed. A very nice older body on restoration from the previous owner in Texas. A lot of money was spent on this truck by the previous owner. I purchased the truck in this condition and have only performed minimal repairs on it from his ownership, in the past 18 months. The exterior restoration included some minimal body rust repair, a minor frame repair (see photo), and chrome plating. A new tinted windshield and gasket were installed during the restoration. The paint work on this truck is very good and I would rate it 8.5 out of 10.

The interior was completely painted and new upholstery installed on the seat, door panels and sun visors. New floor padding and rubber floor mats were installed. Tires have good tread but are not new. Chrome wheels appear good but two have some rust. Most of the electrical wiring was replaced at the time of restoration, the electrical system is functioning properly. I replace the battery and 1-wire alternator in the last 12 months. The water pump was leaking so I have also replaced it within the last 12 months.
There are only two issues with this truck at this time. One is that there is a small rear seal leak on the back of the transmission. The leak is most apparent when the truck is parked with the front end uphill; downhill there is no leaking. The second issue is the steering box, parallel parking is challenging due to lack of power steering but once the truck is moving, steering is adequate. Brakes work really well as does the emergency brake. Directional signals and dashboard lights work. The truck has a working IH spotlight on the drivers side and the driver side mirror is an IH mirror.
The engine runs really well and always starts with no smoking, the engine has approximately 100,803 (estimate only.) The speedometer has been rebuilt. The transmission is a genuine IH automatic transmission and used to be a 3-speed column shift, it was converted by the previous owner in Texas. The transmission does not have a passing kick down feature. Manually downshifting on a hill is recommended. The transmission is fluid sensitive and the reservoir must be kept full at all times, shifting is sluggish if fluid is low.
The truck has a great look and sits right, the 7' bed looks right on this truck. The condition of the bed is very good, no severe denting, no rust and has a light under coating. Overall, this is a very nice truck. I receive many complements on it.
This truck is being sold in "as is" condition, there are no guarantees or warranties stated or implied. Shipping of this truck to the winning bidder is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I can assist in loading the truck if necessary.
