1973 International Harvester International Harvester Additional Info:

1973 international Harvester pick up truck. Original paint. 88,000 miles. It spent the first forty years of its life in the deserts of Idaho and has a solid body. There is no tailgate. 304 international engine with 727 Chrysler automatic transmission. Runs good and has good compression. With that said it has original engine in it and it does have its fair share of oil leaks. It has a new carburetor from Super Scout Specialists and new fuel lines going to Right fuel tank. Right fuel tank has been cleaned, dipped, coated on inside and rust proofed On the outside. The left tank is not hooked up and will need all new fuel lines. The brakes work but are touchy the first couple times down on the pedal. They are out of adjustment. Front shocks are shot but the truck does sit level. It has the torsion bar suspension on front. The ignition system is updated to Pertronix electronic ignition due to the lack of availability to quality replacement points. It also has a new fuel pump, Champion plugs and wires. The floor in the bed is as flat as a pool table and does not show any signs of rough use. There is no rust out on the inside of the bed box but the paint is pretty well gone on it. The buckboard is as straight as an arrow. The seat has a few tears in it in part due to the cloth just getting old and the dash has a crack around the speaker. This truck still needs a lot of TLC to make it complete and whole. I would not say that I would take it on a long haul as of yet due to the condition of the brakes and front shocks. The wheel bearings will need to be checked and packed too. It does drive a bit loose due to those issues. As with any international I’ve ever owned it is cold natured. If you don’t know what you’re looking at then do not bid on this truck. These are not the little hot rod trucks for teenagers to learn to drive on. The pictures don’t show all of the dings and pains that the original paint has endured for the last 45 years. The truck does look pretty good but does show its battle scars. The Paint is not chalked but the gold brown metallic it’s really starting to fade. If you want a show truck this one is not your truck. If you want a solid truck to tinker with an improve, then this one is your truck. It is located 40 miles north west of Indianapolis.
