1969 International Harvester Scout Additional Info:This Scout Aristocrat edition 800A was delivered to Jack G. Roach on August 8th 1969 in Fort Worth Texas straight from the International Harvester Company branch in Fort Worth. The original owners service policy, line setting ticket (build sheet), owners manual, radio manual, inspection cards and documentation remain with the vehicle to this day. It was found on 4/18/1996 by a Scout enthusiast and meticulously restored to an exacting original standard with the restoration being complete on 4/18/1997. All of the photos of the Scout from the day it was purchased, through the restoration and ultimate completion are cataloged in a binder of photographs and original paperwork.
This was a rust free Texas Scout to start with. There was no rust then, and none today. This is an excellent condition survivor that was restored as original as possible. It has what is likely "dealer installed" air conditioning. Photos show the A/C in the Scout when it was purchased but nothing denoting A/C on theline setting ticket. Currently the A/C needs to be recharged but is otherwise functioning. The original interior was re-done to exact as original as possible. Blue carpet, seats, door panels, headliner, interior side panels and dash pad all inexcellent condition. All of the Aristocrat specific options and designations are correct and in very goodcondition, roof rack, badging, etc. When the restoration was complete in 1997 it even had the correct Redline tires, currently its wearing BF Goodrich all terrain tires, this is a deviation from originality.
This Scout has a 304 V8 and 3 speed transmission. All mechanicals of the vehicle are in good working order, except for the oil pressure gauge and the engine temperature gauge. This Scout is ready for the new owner to drive and enjoy. Both fuel tanks operate correctly with working fuel gauges. You can drive this Scout home if you wish. It will cruise comfortably at 60-65 mph and is very quiet inside.
Overall, this is an excellent Scout in amazingly restored original condition. Even though it is an older restoration, it presents as if it were much fresher. It has been well preserved from new, and taken even greater care since being restored. Ready to put into any collection, shown or driven right away. It is hard to find a Scout that has been this well taken care of and preserved.
You could not buy a Scout and restore it tothis condition for anywhere near the reserve price, much less an Aristocrat. Serious buyers are encouraged to call and/or inspect thevehicle in person prior to bidding. There are probably just a handful of Scout Aristocrats in the country that are in this good condition, the new owner will not be disappointed.
