1969 International Harvester Travelall 1000 D 2WD - Tow Pkg Additional Info:

These 2WD cruisers are starting to become quite collectible and are definitely hard to find in sound condition. This is a 48 year old unrestored, but well cared for Travelall. I have done a fair amount of work on it and replaced a few things. The biggest investment was the remanufactured engine which I actually had pulled and sent away then professional installed. So it is the ORIGINAL engine that has been remanufactured. I am including a screenshot of NADA guides valuation. You'll see that average retail on these hard to find Travelall' is $9600 with high retail all the way up to $23,400.
I have my reserve set at $8500 to be safe. But I truly believe it is worth somewhere right in the middle of the High and Average retail numbers. To get to a high retail value I would have needed to have the paint job done along with the repair of the wheel well rust area. Mechanically it is absolutely superb and it wouldn't take much to take care of the remaining cosmetic restoration things.

I would drive this cross country without hesitation. In fact, if you're the winning bidder and will pay for my gas I will do exactly that and will deliver this to you.
Prior to getting it remanufactured the 345 was running ok, but it was just tired. Had the puff of smoke every time I started it. Otherwise it drove fine, but I went ahead and had it professionally remanufactured at a local shop and have receipts for everything at a cost of over $4000.00
I have also purchased new tires, shocks and brakes within the last 9 months and have receipts for that too.
New Front window molding. I ordered the one without the chrome decorative strip by accident so it's not a 'snazzy' as the original but it gets the job done.
New carpet is mostly installed. I still have the front sidewall and the rear cargo area sidewall molded carpet pieces that have not been installed yet.
New rear vinyl seat cover. The front is original and in good shape so I just left it as is for now.
EVERYTHING WORKS.... rear window motor, all gauges, dual fuel tanks, etc. - EXCEPT the A/C -The fan works fine, my understanding is that it just needs a new compressor (about $300)
There is some basic surface rust here and there but nothing extreme that needs urgent addressing. My plan was to hold out until I could afford to get it painted to address the little stuff.
There is rust in the rear right wheel well. I had a guy professionally repair the rear left wheel well which was in much the same condition. He had a health problem and was unable to return to do the right side. He did really great work though. No BONDO.... cleaned out the rust and welded in new steal before re painting for me. Getting the other side down would really be a worthwhile effort. There is a couple spots on the front quarter panels that could be cleaned out and repaired. All very typical stuff. I see no signs of any actual cancer and we do not salt our roads out here in Oregon so underneath it is amazing for a 48 year old vehicle.
She really does drive like a dream. I can steer it with one finger, braking is a breeze and it just cruises down the road beautifully.
I will accept a $1000 down payment via PayPal, but would like to complete the transaction via a cashiers check. I have the title in hand. I am happy to show it and make it available for a test drive no problem at all.
I am serious about offering to deliver it anywhere in the country as long as the buyer pays for gas. I would probably take my son with me an make it a memorable trip. Or if you want to fly out and drive it home that is cool too. I'm happy to help coordinate with a truck driver if you prefer to have it shipped by a vehicle hauler.
I will try to add a link for more pictures as well as a couple videos of it started, at idle and being driven.
Please feel free to ask any questions at all.
