1991 Honda Beat Type R Additional Info:
Hello Fans of Quirky and Cool Cars, This gem just arrived from Japan in February 2017 and it has a clear Washington title in my possession. This is a Honda Beat, a mid-engined convertible with a 656cc, three cylinder engine, a 5 speed transmission, air conditioning, and power windows. Just in time for Spring / Summer. This little number is a Type R and it comes with white faced gauges, a header exhaust, a rear wing with integrated stop light, and a chrome tailpipe cover. The Honda engine has the MTREC (Multi Throttle Responsive Engine Control) system, with individual throttle bodies for each of the three cylinders, to produce 64 PS (63 bhp) at 8100 rpm with an electronically limited top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph). This engine is very rev happy and is Honda reliable. This car handles quite well for its size. It takes the bumps quite well and the steering is razor sharp. This car has 95,000 original kilometers or 59,500 original miles. This car only weighs 1,676 pounds. It is fun to drive. Parts are readily available online from Amazon UK, ebay, and other international sellers. I have an excellent source for part numbers, specs, and other advice about maintaining this car for the next 25 years. Mechanical 10 out of 10 (car was inspected twice and it is solid and needs nothing) Body 8.5 out of 10 (trunk deck lid has been repainted, paint has some wear and chips, but the convertible top works flawlessly and does an excellent job of keeping the rain out. It is very hard to find these cars with the original Honda wheels and steering wheel and this one has them). Interior 9 out of 10 (driver’s seat has some tearing, and I can’t get the original stereo to work, but carpet and dash are in excellent shape). The frame number is the VIN for titleing and registration purposes in Washington. You can see the VIN number from the picture of the title. I import JDM cars and re-sell them as a hobby. Sometimes I make money. Sometimes I don’t. But I am having fun. I have sold cars to people from Washington, California, and Idaho. My reserve is $5,500. Please note that I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as this vehicle is advertised locally and it will get lots of attention.
