1982 Honda Prelude Additional Info:

Greetings ! I have been on eBay since 1996---and I have sold probably 18 Volvo 1800's that I have fixed up to one degree or another. I have had some important cars including 2 NASA vintage Corvettes........... but this car might be the most important one I have ever listed. I left a note on the windshield of this car some years ago. The owner contacted me---but the car was not for sale. It was his Mothers' car who had passed---and it was too sentimental. I certainly understood that. Pass a few years ---and they bought a new truck and wanted the garage space for it. My daughter is getting married in October==and its already over budget ! Her wedding is more important than this car so, I will offer it. I invite a review of my 21 year feedback history for considering this offering- I think you will find it worthy....... On to this car........ I almost bought one in 1981---but chose an Audi 4000--turned out to be a bad choice ! This car is fully documented==Purchased new in New Jersey, was undercoated, and seldom driven. How seldom? Well, the car currently has 53,000 original miles. That is not a misprint. The car is a manual 5 speed, It runs and drives like a low mile car that it is. All the panels are original and straight. All the gaps are as expected. All the gauges, lights, signals, and heater work. The sunroof works. The seats are rip free--as they have been in covers since new. No cracks in the dash.Radio works. Steering wheel nice, CLOCK works. In short---this may be one of the nicest, straightest, 1st generation Preludes in the Country. In Dark blue--it is very handsome in person. On the minus side--- There is the smallest perforation in front of the passenger rear wheel...from rust starting. When the Mom passed in 2011--the son who was in his late 50's put on the rear wing and exhaust system. The exhaust sounds fine---but the large pipe is not stock. The wing is at least modest and is held down with 4 screws. As it i, the trunk and roof paint could stand some freshening from exposure which could be done when the wing is removed. The paint on the sides is original. Its hard to believe this car was $9800 new --over 100,000 were made-- and yet I find less than a handful of 1st gen Preludes for sale in the Country as I write this via CL, eBay, Hemming, and AutoTrader.None on the caliber of this car. It is my hope that a collector will find this car worthy of restoration as it could easily be museum / show car worthy. I will leave my phone number in case of any questions. 1-321- 7 four nine- 7 two five seven before 10PM EST. I offer the car as is / found. Not perfect----but an amazing survivor. PS-- my pictures are not as good as the car---I will try to add improvements tomorrow. Thanks for viewing !
