For sale to highest bidder is a 1954 GMC pickup. Built about 2 years ago. I have an entire documented 'build thread' on it that I will link at the bottom of the listing. It was all original metal, all major rust and holes were welded and repaired. Dents were hammered out to the best of my ability. Its not street rod straight, and it was never meant to be. The body sits on a 1987 Chevy S10 frame (longbed 2wd) which matches the wheel base almost perfectly. Frame was cleaned, painted, and has all new brakes, lines, steering components etc. Cab mounts and front mounts were all custom built. It technically needs nothing, it runs great, handles great, and looks good. Drives straight down the road and will run 70mph on the highway. Interior is 'done' all gauges except the EGT gauge works, just needs a shorter probe in the exhaust manifold, but the hole is there for it with a plug. Seat is the original bench seat that is in good condition. sounddeadenerand carpet installed, CD head unit installed in the seat pan. Its a blast to drive and gets everyones attention.
Some things that may need attention are: paint, just primer with clear coat. Looks descent but its not everyones cup of tea. Bed and rear fenders could use more dent removal, some minor rust holes in the bed still. Fenders could use some supports coming off the frame so they don't rattle as much. Headliner was replaced (cardboard style) but didn't go in as well as it could have.
Random specs and info about it:OM617 had around 130K from donor car, frame had around 150k. Trans is an AX15 jeep 5 speed transmission. Adapter was from mercedes4x4. Everything from the engine back is jeep parts, flywheel, clutch, slave/master, starter etc. Custom made driveshaft to stock S10 rear. Isspro gauges retrofit into the factory dash bezel. Gauges for oil, water, boost, and pyro. Speedo is out of a jeep and works on the factory cable jeep setup. GM alternator. EZ wiring harness throughout entire truck. Glow Plugs are on a push button switch. Everything on the truck is basic and manual. Engine pretty much runs off of a starter wire. Manual steering box. Everything on the engine that wasnt needed was taken off, all gaskets but head gasket were replaced (and it still leaks some, thats a diesel for ya!) Carpet was custom cut and sewed based on the trans tunnel. Shifter was extended to make it more comfortable to shift. Spun style fuel tank holds 6+ gallons, but the truck gets high 20's MPG so its plenty for running around. Bed wood was rough cut oak.
As I already said, its no street rod, its no rat rod either. Quality chassis and running gear parts, with an old body on top. Its loud, its clanky, it stinks (if you dont like diesel smell) but its awesome. Only thing I would consider trading would be an A body Mopar. See the link for full build thread, if any other questions feel free to email.
