1972 was a very good year for Ford! Although certain models were produced on a large scale the convertible Mustang only saw a little over 6000 cars manufactured “making it one of the most rare years for convertibles” !

FYI: (In 1973 Mustang convertible numbers were double the convertibles manufactured in 1972).

The M.C.A. (Mustang Club of America) can only accountant for about 3700 (1972 convertibles) today!

Some of the cars inclusive to that number are six cylinder vehicles!

The Mustang that you see pictured here is the product of much pampering & family protection over several decades.

This beautiful family owned pony car was purchased almost 45 years ago by a record keeper who lived in Pittsburg, PA.

He actually used it for his daily commute to Allegheny Hospital. Sometime after 1987 he moved to the Mid West and shortly thereafter parted ways with the car.

In the winter of the same year the car found a new home in Wentzville Missouri. Its purpose had changed drastically because it was utilized more as a weekend cruiser. By all accounts the second owner truly cherished the car however it was put on the shelf in 2001 due to health issues.

After life was normalized for him again he began to enjoy it regularly and decided to invoke upon a full scale restoration after his retirement in 2013.

One of the first things that he did was to have the car painted. There was a huge undertaking to bring this pony back to it former days of glory.

The car received what was only paint job since leaving the factory in 1972!

The owner decided to keep the car its beautiful original hue / shade & Code (3/J Bright Blue Metallic)! The color is absolutely stunning and must be seen in person to truly be appreciated!

The exterior is smooth to the touch and extremely shiny in direct sunlight! The car shows well and is void of the many defects and flaws over the circumference of the body!

The paint is pretty unique almost possessing a dual nature in regards to its appearance. During the day it comes across as being bright blue but at dusk it appears to be navy blue / teal at first blush.

Nonetheless after the paint job was complete the shop took their time to reinstall the Ford sanctioned Mach One decal package that previously graced the vehicle!

The matte black accents really work wonderfully on this car and truly helps bring the blue paint to life!

The company that performed the work is a premier leader in classic Mustang restorations.

They went through great lengths to ensure the appearance package was period correct!

They ordered select material from the K.A.R. Group in their all out effort to ensure quality!

The iconic NASA hood on this Mustang adds just the right touch and makes the front end even more pronounced!

When the mission to make this Mustang a vehicle worthy of its heritage was complete the owner ordered a new bold N.O.S. front chin Spoiler from Kentucky Mustang as well “the final seal of approval of a job well done”!

Shortly before the car was reassembled the Mach 1 grille was repainted and reconditioned (perfect shape)! The honeycomb tail panel was also restored to like new condition “looks amazing”!

All of the exterior markers, lights and bezels were also refurbished for good measure!

Every panel on this classic Ford looks great!

The rear bumper is original to the car and still looks great. The front windshield and surrounding glass is damage free and in excellent condition as well.

From front to rear this Mustang looks magnificent! It helps us to easily recall the days of yesteryear when cars were manufactured with character and style! Everyone who comes in contact with this pony car absolutely LOVES it!

You will find it difficult to drive this Mustang a single block without receiving much fan fare!

When the top goes down on this FORD even more compliments ensue!

The canvas top “which was replaced a little less than two months ago” is in excellent shape!

It was ordered and obtained by contacting CJ Pony parts. Excellent fit and finish!

It is Raven black in color with the optional rear glass curtain “full power” lowers without issue!

The restoration shop went above the call of duty when undertaking the task of replacing it! They even serviced the convertible top pump, lines & hoses.

Many owners and collectors tend to neglect the fact that these components need to be replaced if they are original to the car. Failure to address the needed preventative maintenance / service on the previously mentioned parts results in frustration and very expensive repairs!

No worries here …. all of the hard work has been done for you she’s ready for years of trouble free enjoyment!

This beautiful Mustang will leave you longing for 70 degree days!!!

If you desire a pony that gets two thumbs up in almost every single area….look no further!

This nostalgic Ford has had no problem taking home a few trophies over the last couple years!

She plays her part well & is ready for any venue

SHOW OR GO!

Now that we have talked about this incredible Mustangs exterior lets discuss what she has to offer inside!

The FORD brand commanded respect when they flexed their muscles with the release of the Luxury interior package!

As displayed in this pony car several upscale accommodations were added for creature comfort and beauty!

From the moment that you open up the door of this vintage pony you will be impressed! Every single stitch of the factory deluxe comfortweave interior has either been protected and or refurbished through the years!

The seat covers are very nice and are presentable. Certainly enough to display at the local cruise inn!

The high back buckets along with the rear seats provide a great example of what the Mustang represented in 1972 when it came to class!

Driving the car for hours on in is very comfortable!

The (C–B Code) Medium Blue interior throughout is pleasing to the eye!

The rear seats and quarter upholstery looks as if they have almost never been used!

This Mustang still retains its original dash pad!

The dash has stood the test of time and almost looks better than it did 1972!

Couched between the seats of this Mustang is a nostalgic factory installed center console! This little added piece of equipment is excellent for storing loose items and change!

Located centrally underneath are a menacing set of racing style gauges!

Even the pods sunken in this dash of this pony jump into action with just a flick of the key!

Another personal favorite of mine is the buckle seat belt indicator that also still illuminates bright red once the car is started along with the original clock “that still actually works”!

The factory installed map light still works also!

This pony also has a wonderful set of factory installed deluxe door panels that are in outstanding condition!

Ford was swinging for the fences in regards to elegance for all intensive purposes with Mustang! The door panels have been massaged with Mothers upholstery vinyl cleaner which has allowed them to avoid fading throughout the years!

The arm rest, door window felt & handles are in excellent condition also!

No stone was left unturned when the trying to preserve this pony!

The convertible header bow is in stellar shape as well! The loop style carpet is in very clean. Protecting the carpet while simultaneously SCREAMING “I LOVE MY MUSTANG” is a set of beautifully crafted logo embossed pony floor mats!

This Blue Oval looks just as good inside as it does out! It makes one reminisce about times spent on Route 66 each and every time you sit behind the steering wheel “which also happens to be in fantastic shape”!

Last but not least this Mustang has a nice classic radio that blasts the tunes at will!

A “CB radio is neatly tucked away under the dash on the passenger’s side” for those who truly want feel the full effects of the 1970’s!

Looking for more reasons to acquire this pony

“consider the fact that it came from the factory with air conditioning” (exceptional option)!

Taking a peek in the trunk you will find a nice trunk mat and spare.

Again what you have here is not only a special car but also a wonderful investment grade vehicle ready to be enjoyed!

Now that I have given several reasons why you should love this Ford…… Let’s talk about what makes the Chevy crowd hates it!

No Mustang can truly be considered a free running stallion without having a factory V/8!

The heart and soul of this horse is its durable factory 302 engine!

This F-Code pony cars block has been rebuilt recently and it runs strong! Usually with just a twist of the key this Mustang fires right up and is ready for the open road!

Sometime around 2014 this Mustang underwent a mid day makeover! In essence the motor was freshened up to help increase horse power & torque ratios that actually would even surpass the ratings from its former days of glory!

Although this vehicle certainly had no issues barking the tires from the factory new components were put in place to ensure reliability!

A micrometer was carefully used to bore the heads and a set beefy performance pistons were also installed!

The car also received an upgrade and special treatment by installing a variable crank mounting plate and aluminum balancer shafts!

Under the hood the car still displays all of the factory watermark decals that screams “F.O.R.D.” in no uncertain terms!!!

However the carburetor was rebuilt and the intake received new gaskets in 2014.

Complementing the original intake & joining in the fight for Mustang pride are the standard valve covers that were refurbished during the restoration process.

A beautiful shiny chrome air cleaner gives a hint of performance (the original air cleaner is included)!

It would be a lost cause trying to give an idea of just how much preventative maintenance this car has received!

A short list of what I can mention at this time is all new plugs, wires, belts, hoses, battery, starter, fuel pump, gaskets, water pump, thermostat, voltage regulator & entirely too much more to list!

Each time out this vintage Ford will make sure that every drive is a thrilling one!

There is no feeling like knowing you can cruise your pony car with confidence!

Performance is respectable and its handling is very impressive! It accelerates without hesitation & doesn’t have the usual inconsistent idling associated with most classic cars!

A rumbling dual exhaust extends from the rear valance panel to warn onlookers that a muscle car is on the prowl “sings a sweet note every time the throttle is mashed”!

There has been a recent oil change & the radiator fluid was also just flushed.

LET’S LISTEN TO HER RUMBLE!!!

The shocks have been replaced along with several other suspension components to ensure total comfort!

No hard pedal or tuff braking on this vehicle! It came from the assembly plant with upgraded front disc brakes! The system has been fully serviced “functioning properly”!

Finally to top things off there is a flawless set of TRIPLE CHROME 17 inch Torque Thrust style mag wheels (Bull Dog aggressive stance) tucked underneath the wheel wells!

This Ole Ford stops traffic!

To help keep things safe at all times a set of spank brand Sumo performance tires have just been installed (not 20 miles on them)!

Modern Muscle car owners go out of their way to tip their cap to you when you pass them by!

It’s only fitting that the pony cars of yester year get acknowledged creating all the excitement that still exist today!

Don’t miss out on your chance to own a quality investment at a fair price!

You may find another pony but you will be hard pressed to find one in this condition!

The time, effort & money spent restoring this car can’t be properly measured. That being said I have set a very fair reserve on it!

The best part has been saved for last!

The car is also structurally sound & solid!!

The floors, frame rails and all other components underneath are in excellent shape!

No matter if this is the vehicle for you or not. Don’t ruin your experience by purchasing a rusty car! Rust repair car be time consuming and very expensive. I have taken several photos to give the potential buyer some insight as to the cars condition underneath (ALL INSPECTIONS WELCOME).

This vehicle will only continue to appreciate! Drive the dream! Car cover included and factory manual included!
