1979 Ford F-150 Additional Info:

For sale is a 1979 F-150 project truck. As it sits, it is a complete truck (minus the bed and some trim and interior pieces); however, it needs some assembly. The truck has a VIN and is titled in Wisconsin. I am selling the truck because I am going to school and I don't have the money to finish the project.I bought the truck a year and a half ago. The paint was in good condition and the body was nearly rust free. However, there were quite a few dents, dings, and holes which needed to be fixed. I sandblasted the cab, hood, and fenders and made the necessary repairs to the body. The original doors were too dented, so I bought some replacements and prepped them for paint, also. I did the primering and painting myself (under the instruction of an experienced auto body tech). I did several coats of primer (etch and surfacer), single stage paint, then a clear coat. There are two runs that I noticed in the paint/clear coat, and I included pictures of them. I also replaced the front windshield.I have done some work on the powertrain, also. I decided to switch out the frame, because the replacement has been coated in rust-oleum (thats why its blue). The engine is original, but I switched out the automatic transmission for a 4-speed manual. I never had the chance to get a clutch and linkage set up for the tranny, though. The clutch is brand new. The engine ran great before I took the truck apart, and it should continue to be problem-free.There are several things which need done before this truck is driveable. The interior/dash needs reinstalled, and some engine wiring needs reconnected. The interior will need new seat and headliner fabric (I basically just tore it out, my plan was to do an all new interior). There are some miscellaneous connections that need to be made in the engine compartment. The brakes need to be checked to make sure they are functional. The truck will need a new bed, the old one was pretty well shot. Also, a clutch linkage will need to be installed. All in all, this truck is still quite a project, and will take some hours to complete. The frame, body, and engine are all solid, and should be dependable. This truck could make either a showy driver or a great mudder, depending on what you want to do with it.There are some miscellaneous parts included with the truck, or they can be bought separately. This includes a front clip (fenders, hood, etc.), automatic transmission, transfer case, and some other smaller parts. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the truck or the parts.Note: I will enter the VIN number on the listing as soon as I check it.
