1929 Ford "Customized" Farm Pickup - No Reserve

1929 Ford Model A Additional Info:

This 1929 Model A Ford has been licensed and insured on my farm for 40 years. When I bought it from a farm in Iowa it had been a Coupe but someone before me torched off the backend and stuffed a Model A pickup bed up to the back of the front seat where they bolted it down.I used it like that for many years but finally got tired of how bad it looked and took it to a custom car guy. He did a number of things:1. He bent metal and closed the back of the cab so it looks like a 5 window cab.2. He shortened the Model A pickup bed from the front, so that the fenders on the bed lined up with the fenders on the coupe, and he left about 1 inch of space between cab and bed so that they do not rub each other.3. The fuel tank was removed and sent to Renuzit so now we have no issues with dirt plugging the carb filters.4. A 12 volt alternator was installed and all lights changed to 12v. Ignition is thru a voltage drop. Since doing this, the car always starts right up and we have not had to file the points when it sets for awhile.5. Doors got new safety glass with new felts in the tracks. (Original door glass was plate and I broke one by slamming the door.)
I realize that "Henry Ford never made a 5 window pickup". Some people might think that it should have been restored as a coupe but this was a farm vehicle and many Model As were modified so that they could be more useful on the farm. Also a body shop said that it would take new sheet metal cab, fenders etc as there are so many dings and dents. Besides many people like it as is.
I painted it with a brush and rustoleum paint, flat black on body and shiny red on wheels.
It starts and runs good. The 5 tires were all new from Coker Tire about 5 years ago but they show almost no wear. The tires and wheels are 21 inch, the standard size for 1929 Fords. Brakes are still mechanical which takes some getting used to. Speedo needs a new cable. Gas gage and Ammeter both work. Windshield wiper does not work but I seldom drive it in the rain. Brake lights, turn signals, headlights and tail lights work.
Starting price of $9500.00 is about as low as I have seen for a running, drivable 1929 Ford. Contact me if you have questions jack@hi-tork.com or 517.206.3206.
