1970 Ford Ranchero GT Additional Info:

You are looking at anORIGINAL1970 FordRanchero GToptioned with an Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes and Factory Air Conditioning. This carwhile needinga full restorationisaSolidSouthern Carand is an extremelyworthy candidate with the GT package andit'sdesirablecolor combination!!

This is an ORIGINAL M-code 1970 FordRanchero GT '48' Body codethatwas sold new here in the Atlanta area and hasnever left. This car was a driver and shop truck/parts runner at a local wrecking yardfor a number of years before finally beingparked beside the shop office for a someday restoration to be performed on it. The restoration never got started on and this car has sat long enough!! It is more than ready for the nextRancheroenthusiast to come along andrestore this car to its former glory!!

This car was aRetail Order atWillis DenneyFord Co. in Fairburn, GA. and ordered in theAtlanta 21 DSO inthevisually stunning and very desirable1-code Vermillion Hue (Also Called Calypso Coral)withaWhite Vinyl Top and a nicely contrasting Black Vinyl Bench Seat Interior.

This GT was furtherspec'd outwith theOptional M-code 351C-4V,FMX Automatic Transmission, and a bulletproof 9 inch 3.00 geared conventional rear end!

This '70RancheroGTper the Deluxe Marti Report originally ordered as follows:
351C-4V V-8 Engine FMXAutomatic Transmission3.00 gearedConventional RearVermillion Exterior PaintBlack VinylBench Seat InteriorE78-14 Wide Oval Belted White Sidewall TiresPower SteeringPower Disc BrakesAir ConditioningAMRadioTinted Glass
This car is a project car and has been sitting fora number of years.Somewhere along the way theRanchero's powerplantwaschanged to a351C-2V engine.( I do have a rebuildable 70 351C-4v engine available at extra cost)The previous owner got the car running and did have it yard drivingwith some fresh fuel in an auxiliary tank as the original tank is bad. The engine actually runs decentlyand I have a video of it running in the car that I will post a link to below. It does sputter a little bit at first but does clean out and rundecently. A full tune and carb rebuild would dowonders for it.The Transmission does drop into gear and moves the car. but I have not driven itany distance as the brakes are not really functional at this time. This is not a driver by any means, butit is a solid project car that does run. It will need some more work to make it a driver, but could be ready with a weekends worth of work.

The AC on the car is all there and intact buthas lost its charge andis not functional at this time.
Thecar been repaintedover the original Vermillion/Calypso Coral paint and while being kept the original color changed it wasdefinitely not a high end repaint and it is tired now with cracks and chips all around. Body overall is decent but does have some rust, mainly from sitting. All of the damageis a pretty straight forward repair for a good body guy. Sometime in it's life the poor Ranchero was shot at and there is a bullet hole that broke the back glass and put an exit wound hole in the side of the car.Needs the battery apron patched and a new battery tray. Car's bodyhas very minor rustand hashad some filler used here and there used to straighten the body back in the day. Could use a couple of floor pans (see pics) butnot your typical rust belt winter driven underside. It has its share of bumps and bruises but is not a terrible car to work with. With that said a complete cosmetic resto would be in order.Car really needs to be stripped, straightened, and repainted back to it's original Vermillion/Calypso Coral color combination again!!
The Body on theRanchero GT whilenowhere near perfect, norpaint ready is a reasonably good platform from which to start with. The Hood,Fenders, Doors, and 1/4's while needing some attention are allworkable pieces. The Floors have some rust, but theFrame Rails, Rockers, etc. are solid on this car.
Undoubtedly you will need someparts and pieces for this car as yourestore it, but it is a pretty much complete car that is well optioned and asolid platform to start with!!
TheBlack Bench Seat Interior isoriginal and for the most part is all there; but needing some restoration. While it does show the years of wear and tear; most all of the pieces are actually in decent shape.
The carwas originally equipped with standard 14 inchwheels which I have for it,it is pictured with a set ofCenterline wheels on it; that are for photographic purposes only and NOT included with this auction. This car will be delivered with 14 inch steel wheels back on it.
The last couple of pics show this car as found and being hauled out from behind the barn. It is still pretty much as found except for the wheels we put on it that would hold air so the car could be easily moved.

Please be realistic in your expectations of this car as anearly 50year old project car that has been around the block and knocked around a bit needing complete restoration to include body work, mechanical work, and cosmetic reconditioning.
I recognize the fact that this car will need a good bit of work to bring it back, but all of the repairs are straight forward ones that are pretty basic tasks in any restoration. I have priced this car to reflect it's condition allowing the new owner to have a reasonable buy in on the car with plenty of room for investment without breaking the bank. Some sweat equity will go a long way on this car.
Overall this is a very decent original 1970RancheroGTthat is a solid restoration candidate. Thisis a runningrestorationproject. There are lots of picked over, rusted out carcasses out there; but decent do-able cars such as this that are not rusted to death do not come along very often. This car has a clear GA title from the previous owner that is ready for transfer. If you have been looking for a SolidRanchero GT to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be some time before another suitable running resto projectsuch as this comes along again!
