1973 Ford F-250 F-250 Additional Info:

1973 Ford F-250 converted to a Detroit Diesel. It does have a Jake Brake installed, and it works, but I am not sure I hooked the wire back up after replacing the oil line. It originally had air brakes installed as part of the conversion, but that was removed and hydro-boost brakes were installed. It still has the compressor, air tanks, and air horns, but the compressor is putting oil into the air. It has a cyclonic air filter that pretty much never needs to be replaced. It has two transmissions, a Clark 5 speed followed by a 3 speed. The front end has been completely rebuild with all new bushings, bearing, rotors, calipers, brake lines, kingpins, shocks, tie rods, and steering box. Rear end replaced with a 3.55 ratio Dana 61 along withnew heavy duty springs, and new shocks. New tires and rims installed in 2013 with very low miles on them. New below bed tool boxes and LED tail lightsinstalled in 2013 as well. Fuel tank and fuel pump replaced. Speedometer does not work, but I did calculate mileage at about 20MPG. It will cruise easily at 65MPH, albeit quite loud. Always planned to replace the cab, just never found a good donor truck.

I assume if you are looking at this listing you know a little something about Detroit Diesel engines. However, if you would like more pictures, or would like to hear it running, let me know. I do have a complete set of service manuals for the engine. The engine is in decent shape, runs good, and has great oil pressure. It does smoke, black of course when you step on it, but also a little blue.

I uploaded a YouTube video of a first morning start and a walk around. The outside temperature was 85 degrees.

The bed extension that is installed in the video does come with the truck, it is made from aluminum.
