This rare, low mile 1973 Mustang Convertible is a survivor in every sense of the word. It runs and drives like it was designed to over forty years ago and wears its patina with great pride. A fully-optioned piece of history with legendary “Q” code performance.

The “Q” code engine was not even on the order sheet for a 1973 Mustang. Ford Motor Company was excited about the Mustang II, scheduled to be released in the following year. They limited the options available to move the 73’s out so that they could retool for the Mustang II. What makes this collectible even more rare is the fact that it was built with every option available at the time. The first owner, just two owners ago, must have been the envy of the entire community. A convertible Mustang, with a 351 and every option under the sun. All while sporting its metal glow blue paint.

When looking at collectability and searching for a classic that you can enjoy driving while building equity in your investment, there are a few essential elements that should be on your list. These elements of collectability list a car equipped with limited production options, built the last year of a model, low miles, numbers matching originality, minimal number of owners, with original paperwork and outstanding drivability. This classic has it all!!!

This car has been represented as a two owner, low mile, original collectible. To validate the previous owners claim of miles they have presented a title with the actual miles recorded on it, the original window sticker and the original title. After a thorough inspection of the car we have found no reason to question that this pampered classic is as represented.

This car will represent itself beautifully in any event rating survivors. Everything works perfectly on this car. The power convertible top goes up and down as new, the power windows open and close with ease, the power disc brakes offer exceptional stopping power, the air conditioner blows cold and the rare “Q” code powers you down the road with great acceleration with the irreplaceable exhilaration of a convertible.

About Factory Correct Cars offered by BlueChip Motorcars

BlueChip Motorcars periodically offers classic cars that may be listed as Factory Correct, or Numbers Matching. Because there are many opinions about the term(s) used to describe these types of listings, allow us to explain how BlueChip Motorcars comes to that assessment.

As you may know, depending on the source, the term “matching numbers, or factory correct,” may mean many things to many people. Purists might define it as a car with every possible window crank, dash knob or even every nut and bolt is original to the car from the time it left the production line. Although some classic cars do exist in that rare condition, most do not.

The majority of classic cars on the market were at some point in their ownership, restored or repaired with NOS parts (new old stock) or licensed reproduction parts. Whenever the information is available to us about the use of these parts, BlueChip Motorcars will gladly pass it along to the potential buyer.

BlueChip Motorcars uses the term Factory Correct or Numbers Matching only to distinguish a vehicle where the engine casting code corresponds with the VIN and Cowl Tag code. If these codes tell the same story about the car in question, BlueChip Motorcars then considers it to be a Factory Correct or Numbers Matching vehicle. However, unless otherwise stated, the transmission, rear end, and transmission may or may not be original to the car.

BlueChip Motorcars welcomes all potential buyers to verify all the information with a qualified expert. We would be happy to email you all the numbers that are obtainable on any vehicle where the term Factory Correct or Matching Numbers is used.
