1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Additional Info:

This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 is the king of the street sleepers. Beneath the elegant color is a slick fastback roofline, and a potent 390 under the hood. It's a true factory muscle car before there were muscle cars. What makes this car look so great is the quality of its restoration that included a nice respray of its original Sunlight Yellow paint. The black vinyl roof gives it the convertible-style appearance, and the pillarless hardtop body backs this up with the same wind-in-your-hair-experience. You'll also appreciate the nicely preserved Galaxie 500 trim, with bumpers that have obviously been restored and a good shine on the stainless. The fastback might have been built to help with NASCAR aerodynamics, but all the trim was still inspired by the jet age, including the chrome fins on the front fender, the hubcaps, and of course, the afterburner taillights on the very tidy rear end. The interior matches the vinyl roof with a cool looking deep black seats with contrasting light piping. Completing this midnight effect are the pristine door panels, dash, and carpet. Of course like any good 1960s car there's plenty of chrome trim to make this dark interior shine. The driver gets the original premium chrome ring wheel. Beyond that is the wide gauge cluster that spans half the dash. It includes a massively long speedometer flanked by two barrel style gauge clusters. While the whole package looks thoroughly factory original, there is one part that is an interesting period-correct add-on. The air conditioning unit on this car is the one you picked out of the Sears catalog in the 1960s, and it's still blowing cold today.Pop the hood and you'll see that callouts on the fenders were not lying. This is the car has its correct Z-code 390 cubic-inch "Thunderbird" V8. Dressed with stunning gold Thunderbird valve covers and a matching air cleaner, it's the ideal early '60s powerplant. A motor this size has no trouble giving this full-size Ford some real get-up-and-go, and the dual exhaust makes a powerful sound without losing this car's cruising attitude. Plus, this Galaxie's three-speed Crusie-O-Matic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and modern Hankook tires make the total package quite comfortable going down the road (and seeing that cool A/C unit bolted in adds to the touch). So this coupe is the complete package of fast with class. This is old school luxury and power at its finest. It provides year-round fun and room to carry everyone. With a look like this, and creature comforts included, we dont expect this car to stay in our showroom long. Call today!!
