1966 Ford Fairlane 500 XL Additional Info:

*UPDATE - I have a man coming this Sunday that wants to trade. He has a truck that I am actually interested in, so if we make a deal I'll remove this posting, obviously. I would rather sell, however. If I get a bid before Sunday I'll let the guy know that he's too late. Not pushing you guys....just laying it out in case you're waiting until the end to bid.
1966 Ford Fairlane 500XL. 289 / C4, Original 2bbl Carburetor, Power-assist steering. Less than a year old on the headers, 2.5" dual exhaust and cherry bomb chambered mufflers. The engine runs very well. I just had all of the seals replaced in the transmission. The floor is in good shape having been stripped, coated and fiberglassed. New carpet. The heater box has been disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with a new heater core. New brake master cylinder. Although the instrument cluster is in good shape the clear acrylic had been butchered to accept a different stereo. I have that area blocked off, but I also have a whole '67 instrument cluster with clock and original radio in good shape that will go with the car. Also the hood was tweaked by the previous owner (I'm guessing). It looks like they attempted to close the hood while the hinges were locked up or something. There is also a puncture hole from where the all-thread for the air cleaner must have been too long at one point when they closed the hood. I have a hood that is in good shape (different color) that will go with the car. The rear springs have a couple spring helpers but it also has adjustable air shocks. The tires have less than 3000 miles on them. I also have the original manual and some paperwork. That owner kept very good maintenance records for 10 years or so.
There is some rust on the bottom of both doors. This is a common spot in these cars where the door skin and inner structure is pinch together where water stays. There is also a spot on the top of the truck deck, but is is surface only. I believe that this car has been repainted, but to the correct color. The rockers, top, fenders and quarter panels are all in really good shape and show no rust.
Again, I have a spare hood in good condition and a newer C4 transmission that goes with the car. The transmission is a '72 model that has been rebuild, but doesn't come with the pan, bell housing or torque converter (this transmission requires a different spline count). In addition I have a complete '67 instrument cluster that has the original radio and clock options.
