1966 Ford Fairlane 500 GT-A Additional Info:

Same owner the last 36 years! Genuine S code 390 GT-A with only 76,000 miles.
EXTERIOR: I really believe this to be a rust free car with original panels. It is very straight, like looking at a red mirror. I just felt all along the bottoms, it's smooth. The panels fit square and flush. Doors shut real nice, trunk clicks shut. It is a factory candyapple red car. It is a very smooth, glossy finish. It also has the GT stripe along the bottom. Upfront the original grill and headlight bezels are very good. Bumper was rechromed. Chrome hood louvers were replaced. New windshield, stainless trim around it is straight. The trim around the convertible opening has pitting. In back the bumper has been rechromed. Taillights and tail panel trim are very good original. Has a new black convertible power top. The Chrome 14 inch Magnum 500 wheels look new. Good looking car. The lines, stance and colors are great.
INTERIOR: Well preserved inside. Door panels are new. Very cool, lights are built right into the armrests. They work and so does the one at the back of the console. We just replaced the dash pad, it was professionally installed. The instrument panel has not been cut up, it still has it's original AM radio. There are three vintage gauges mounted down below the dash. Center console is very nice original. Original upholstery is very nice, a little discolored. Has seat belts front and back. Overall it is nice looking, mostly original interior.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The390 engine has been upgraded with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and a big dual feed Holley carb with electric choke. The distributor, cap, wires and coil look new. Has rechromed valve covers and air cleaner lid. Also has chrome alternator. It features power steering. The engine bay is really clean metal, I don't see signs of damage or rust repair. Painted satin black, original red paint on the bottom of the hood and the upper firewall. Neat and orderly.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Bone dry original clean metal, never been painted over. Bottom of the trunk lid is original. Has complete jack and spare assembly. The trunk mat is original, weatherstrip is b replaced. So the trunk compartment is not glamorous but someone who appreciates clean original will like this.
UNDERSIDE: Very clean metal floors. Really, they look very nice. Smooth metal painted satin black. I don't see patches, factory seams are clean. Front end looks good. Has some new bushings, new sway bar, power steering unit looks recent. Has vented disc brakes in front too. Coil over shocks in back. Dual exhaust has crossover pipe and glass pac mufflers. Looking up at the motor it looks fresh, has heavy duty C-6 automatic and 3.25 rear.
Very desirable car because of their good looks. This one here being such a well preserved car and red over red 390 GT makes it even that much better.
