1936 Ford Fordor Sedan.

Great Race Tough, Great Race Proven.

If you want to get a head start in a classic car event like the Great Race, TROG, or Cars and Coffee, this is a great original, low mileage, 1936 Ford four door sedan. Perfect for rally race, show, museum or, if you like, Hot Rod.Appeared in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 Great Race.

Low original miles on an all Henry Ford steel body. Body has never been removed from the original frame. Original 21 stud, LB block,Ford flathead V8 with less than 100 miles on a professional engine rebuild. Stromberg 48 carburetor, fresh radiator, rebuilt water pumps, rebuilt fuel pump, 6v, rebuilt “helmet” distributor, rebuilt generator and rebuilt steering box. Relined mechanical brakes with good drums. Re-chromed bumpers, rebuilt original style leaver shock absorbers, “wide five” rims, bias-ply wide whitewall tires and a spare.

Engine runs smoothly and car drives like a great old Ford. Paint and interior have expected rally race wear and chips. Good glass, some rust near the battery compartment, scratches on front fenders from hasty hood closures. Vinyl decals in photos are removable.Extra original parts included:water pumps, generator, starter, distributor, coil, spare transmission, steering gear, suspension parts and many others. The transmission has been upgraded to 1939 synchronizers. Boxes of original replacement parts included. This is an easy car to work on, even for beginners.

Performance upgrade parts included with the sale at no additional cost: Mitchell overdrive unit (over $2500.00) The overdrive was used for the Great Race for high speed cruising. Removed, factory rebuilt and stored after race. 12 volt single wire alternator with flathead mounting bracket (for 12v conversion), Rex Gardner electronic “crab” distributor, front tube shock mounts, radiator fan, turn signal switch and electric wiper motor.

This car is clean and has been kept in a climate controlled warehouse except during rally races and car shows. Located in Wichita, KS, not used in the winter. Things that need to be repaired or replaced: restore vacuum wiper motor, repair fuel sender, and service transmission second gear synchronizer. Unlike many classic cars, the ’36 Ford is supported by multiple catalog supply companies and a huge online knowledge base. Most parts that are subject to wear (bushings, belt, bearings, etc.) are available online as NOS or reproduction at reasonable prices.

This is a clean, great looking car that performed well in several rally races, no DNFs. Get started now and be ready for the next Great Race.
