1989 Ford Ranger "Lightning"Started as a custom build that was completed April 1966 (see that last photo), with 59250 miles on it. In 1918 I dropped off the ground effects and the Splash paint job, and went with bare metal, primer, black base coat, and clear coat. new emblems, and rebadged as a "Lightning". Entire truck body and bed is original with out rust or previous damage. It sports a brand new Genuine Ford Lightning rear bumper custom grill and front bumper, in short a very solid truck.
Drive LineThe motor is a "built" 1995 Mustang Saleen SVT 5.0 HO with up grades, such as, 1994-95 style GT-40 intake and throttle body w/ 25# Motor Spots injectors. Ford performance roller cam, Tri-Y headers and 2 1/2" exhaust withFlowmaster mufflers, topped with a Vortec Supercharger (at 9# boost). Cooling consist of a Ford Performance aluminum radiator w/electric fans.Trans is a Borg WarnerT-5, 5 speed, self adjusting hydrolic clutch, and an Auburn 3.73 Posi.
SuspensionCustom lowered with; 3" Dropped front axles, custom 2" lowered front springs,1" front sway bar, Rear axle "flip kit", Explorer over-ride traction bars. Power 4 wheel disc brakes w/slotted rotors.
InteriorCustom interior includes 1995 Ranger Splash Hi-back bucket seats and console custom finished to match the custom door panels. Gray carpet and headliner matched the rest of the interior. Features Carbon Fiber inlays in the padded dash w/ factory gauges. Not to mention Colorado Custom Billet steering wheel, peddles, rear view mirror, and window cranks. Sony AM/FM CDreceiver, w/separate Alpine 200 watt amp. connected to 2 speakers in each door.
Other ExtrasA/C and heat with the freon upgraded to 134.Power steering18"X 8" Colorado Custom Billet wheels, rapped in Yokohama skins front and back.
