1958 Ford Fairlane CONVERTIBLE Additional Info:

Rare optioned 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable roof Convertible with what I'm told is the: V8 300 horsepower "Police Interceptor Thunderbird Special" engine.
I bought this Skyliner from Ebay about 3 years ago,a restoration shop was recommended by seller so I figured while it is still out in California that I would have the work done to make it a "presentable driver".Had it mechanically gone over and interior as well. They did not do the trunk or the inner rockers as I had expected, there is some rust in those areas that you can do as you drive the car. But you can drive the car now! I had all of this done "long distance" as I am in NYC and the car is stored in Paso Robles California and buyer will pick it up at the storage facility. I would not call it a "restored" car as fully, nicely restored Skyliner's sell for about $35,000 to $50,000+ as you can see on ebay, my goal was to make it look nice and have it driveable! I think that it looks nice. I think that they did a decent paint job for a driving car, not a trailer queen! It should be a pretty fast car with the big block and manual shift.I recently paid a talented and conscientious race car mechanic to "tune it up" so it runs EXCELLENT! He rebuilt carb; changed plugs, wires, cleaned gas tank, and other efforts so that it RUNS BEAUTIFULLY!He has driven the car around the large property and back roads and touts that is "ready to drive!"He will be there in my absence at pickup.
I have done all I can do and spent alot of money on this car, my health has declined over past few years and I no longer am driving any classic cars or have the energy for the hobby. My last "classic" driver is my 1959 Cadillac coupe which I will also be putting on Ebay in the coming week or two. I last drove the 1959 Cadillac around the neighborhood and to local car shows about 2 or 3 years ago. And my last car is my "Top-of-the-line" 1940 Packard 180 with rare air conditioning! It was the 1st year for A/C in ANY car! And my Wellcraft Cabin Cruiser boat which I also have not touched in 3 years! I just can't handle these things anymore, so I am selling it all on ebay. I have been an EBAYER for about 22 years and I am a fellow car collector so I AM good to deal with, and I will help in any way I can. This Ford Retractable Convertible is 62 years old,I have spent plenty of money on this car, tried to hire good people/shops to do "nice work" on mechanical, body & paint, & interior. I spent hours on the phone listening to recommendations, helping find parts, etc; and for the past nearly 40 years I have loved unusual classic cars and always try to improve them. This Rare Ford Retractable/convertible I did it all by long distance thus I sell it: As Is,where is to be picked up before end of the month (storage is paid through end of month). It CAN be driven onto transporter truck and the mechanic will be there to help at pickup.IF YOU ARE AN ANAL RETENTIVE COMPLAINER, or DO NOT HAVE ALL THE FUNDS READY TO BUY THE CAR = PLEASE DON'T BID! I WANT A SIMPLE, EASY SALE WITH NO COMPLAINTS. I DON'T HAVE THE ENERGY ANYMORE FOR DRAMA, MY HEALTH IS NOT GOOD. BUT KNOW THAT WITH 22+ YEARS ON EBAY AND ABOUT 40 YEARS A FELLOW CAR COLLECTOR THAT I WILL DO MY BEST. I PRICED IT TO BE A GOOD DEAL PURPOSELY SO I DON'T NEED TO HEAR ANY COMPLAINTS!If it were $50,000+ as the fully restored ones are priced, I could understand, but at 1/3 to 1/2 OF THE PRICE OF A FULLY & NICELY RESTORED SKYLINER I THINK IT'S A GREAT BUY AND LEAVES YOU WITH A SAFE BUY! I hope the bidding gets up to about $20,000 or so, I need the money now, make me a deal and buy all 3 of my classics and take my boat too!I think the Skyliner looks very nice! I had a 1957 Skyliner but I like the 1958 best! And I was told after I bought it that it's got the rare option high hp "Interceptor" engine, I did not even know this when I bought it! The special engine was a nice surprise for a change, but as always, with all the old car finds, expect more things to do! And it is a rare manual transmission which some people like! AND...as you can see,I think it looks like a 1957 Chevy convertible which I always liked! I priced my car very low to make sure it sells now and without complaints. Thanks again! You can call me if need be from 4pm- 9pm any day. 917)687-6290Thank you, Kurt
