1986 Ford Ranger XLT, supercab s Additional Info:

1986 XLT, SUPERCAB S Ranger, with a RARE TURBO DIESEL
This truck is solid where it counts, the frame is solid, the floors are solid, the rocker panels are solid. It does need doors and fenders, and a rear factory box. The doors and fenders can be found on any regular ford ranger or bronco II from 1983 to 1987. So this should not be an issue. But it is work, so you might want to transplant the drive train into another ford ranger, bronco, or? I bought the truck for the drive train, from someone who used it daily on his farm. The title I have is clean, but it was damaged(some information has been torn away), so I don't know if it can be registered, which is another reason to maybe just use the drive train, and any other parts you may require. The vin number is 1FTCR15T3JPA26614
The turbo engine runs superb. The clutch is new, but still requires an internal slave unit, as you have to pump the clutch pedal to engage, nothing serious. The rear box is just aftermarket.
It is a 2.3 turbo diesel engine with a 5 speed manual transmission, and 4x4 transfer case. Manual locking hubs. It has power windows, and locks, the driver's side doesn't work, maybe a fuse. The truck is equipped with A/C, but no compressor for the engine. The windshield has a crack.
The truck does seem to drive well, it starts right up, no blow by, no smoke, and if you pump the clutch pedal, it shifts fine, and stops fine.
The truck does needs work. I have priced it starting at 1500.00, since the drive train alone should be worth that, then you have a good front axle, and the interior.Any questions?, please send them.
