This car was built at the San Jose Plant and originally sold in the Seattle area. I purchased the car from the second owner, also from the Seattle area, who owned it from 1975-2013. Being that this Mustang was a West Coast car for 46 years it is in good shape and a excellent candidate for restoration. Although this Mustang is not perfect it is NOT a Midwest Rust Bucket! The Torque Boxes, Floors, and Trunk are in very good condition.
You could be the 4th owner of this car, not too bad for a car that will be 50 years old in December! The car has approximately 150,000 miles on it but the second owner had the engine rebuilt (.040 over) due to a valve failure at around 100,000 miles. The 289 2v runs good but the tires that are currently on the car need to be replaced. I put this off because I was waiting until I could afford a new set of 17 inch rims and tires. If you don't want to go that route you could just replace the tires, get a front end alignment, and you would be ready to cruise around town.
In the three years that I have owned the car I have completed the following:
Replaced the front wheel bearings
Replaced all Break Cylinders (4 Wheel Drum System)
Replaced the front and rear suspension (Mustangs Plus GRAB-A-TRAK)
Replaced steering linkage (Mustangs Plus GRAB-A-TRAK)
I hate to see this car go but I am being relocated and need to downsize.
