Hard-to-find 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger 4x4 Flareside (Stepside) Short Bed pickup truck. As you probably know, these are rare... don't let this one get away. This is a reasonably straight truck wearing an older repaint in red over factory Maroon. There are no major rust issues; a very dry truck other than surface here and there. The interior features new seat upholstery in factory pattern, new carpet, and cleaned/detailed balance of original and in good survivor condition. The truck is a real powerhouse with the swapped-in 1970 429 Thunder Jet engine. The truck has an automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and 4.10 Limited Slip axles front and rear. The truck runs well and drives nicely with solid steering and a rebuilt brake system. The 4-wheel drive system works as it should. New rear fuel tank, lines, fuel pump, and new distributor.Auxiliaryrear tank in the bed; I've disabled it but it's sound and would be a great back-up after cleaning. The engine swap is well-done and looks factory-original.

The wheels are 15 x 10 Wagon Wheels freshly sandblasted and powder coated, wearing decent 31" tires.

Easy to drive with the genuine power steering, not the old “power assist” found on older Fords... anyone can drive this truck. Newer battery, serviced cooling and charging systems, new belts, filters, fluids, oil, etc. etc.

The dash pad is uncracked and original, the pedal assembly cleaned and painted, new pedal pads, new carpe, new seat upholstery, dyed visors, headliner, door panels, etc. The glass is very nice all around. The truck has a vintage tilt-up Sunroof that is weather-tight, not leaky. I have included a picture of the worst surface rust, and the spot of failing paint on the front of the hood.

This is a very cool truck that is going to make someone very happy!

Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for export, inspection, etc. I've priced the truck to sell.

While every effort has been made to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 41-year-old classic truck, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. It is a used vehicle and can be expected to have minor issues associated with a vehicle of this era.

Please be ready to make payment in full within 3 days of auction's end via deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank wire transfer.

Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I own a classic car restoration shop and can recommend a reliable and affordable broker who I have used many times... ultimately the choice must be yours alone.
