1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Additional Info:

This 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe 2 door sedan has been my Wife's daily driver for the past 7 years.Always garage kept, never driven in the snow, and seldom driven in the rain.Selling due to moving to the country with two miles of gravel roads."Marilyn", as my wife named her, is mostly original from the firewall back. The previous owner replaced the front chassis with a late 1970's Plymouth Volare torsion bar suspension that has disc brakes and power steering. He converted the car to 12 volts and replaced the original 6 cylinder engine with a custom built Ford 289 V8 that has a small cam, Holley intake, Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, Mallory distributor, and Petronix electronic ignition. He also installed a dual exhaust system, a new aluminum radiator, master cylinder, and some brake lines. The clutch, transmission, and rear end are all original.Since owning the car, we have replaced the rear brakes, steering idler arm, clutch assembly, drive shaft, and shocks.New radial tires were installed 8-10-17.The original dash mounted clock and AM radio do not work as they were designed for 6 volts. We added an AM-FM radio with CD player that has two speakers under the deck behind the rear seat.Although the car looks great from 10 feet, it is not a show car. It has lots of rust along the bottom of the rocker panels and the green metallic paint has bubbles in a few areas. The gray/blue vinyl seats and door trim appear to be original. There is a cigarette burn on the driver's side of the front seat. A dark gray headliner was installed by the previous owner and is in very good condition. The 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive shifts effortlessly and cruises smoothly at 65-70 mph. There is a spare tire with jack and lug wrench.A full service was just completed today 8-7-19.It's a fun car to drive and is a great candidate for a full restoration or leadsled conversion.
