1964 Ford Thunderbird 2 Dr. Convertible Additional Info:

1964 Ford Thunderbird 2 Dr. Convertible

White with a red interior always makes a very nice convertible! In the past 17 years the owner has had this car it has been extremely well detailed including under the hood, and in the trunk area. It appears that this car through out its life has been treated as a pretty special car that has not been out in inclement weather. If a person looks at the bottom side pictures of this car, I am sure they will be impressed by how original and rust free the bottom side is. Also, the stainless that is on the inside doors, and the back of the seats never gets restored and they are very easily dinged and scratched over the years. A lot of the time they redo the interiors but they never get around to getting those parts restored. The bright work on this interior is just amazing. Owner has always maintained possession of this car, maintained it and kept it in his garage from 2002 till present. However a few years back he did title it in a friends name for a period of time and than did transfer it back later on. He has always had car stored in a heated garage with humidity monitored. The car had been stored for years on stands and engine had been flogged down for full storage mood. After bringing it out this year he did do a complete rebuild of the carburetor, which needed to be done at that point.

Buyer are required- To do their own research to verify the researched codes above are correct.

* Purchased in 2002, after searching the US extensively

* Professional respray at some point and interior restored

* Radiator and transmission rebuilt to prevent leaks and ensure reliability

* Regular maintenance as needed when being used, oil changed yearly

* Power Convertible Top

* Real Spoke Wire Wheels

* Power Windows

* AM-FM Radio

* Swing Away Steering Wheel

* Heater

* Clock

* Radial Tires

* Power seat drivers side

Paint-

*The finish is extremely smooth, possibly more shiny and smooth than the original finish, matches all the way around.

* The owner is not sure on the age of the paint.

* We are not finding any obvious scratches, there are just a couple light nicks that you can see in the photos that could easily be professionally brush touched. (See Pics)

* Thought it is harder to see on white there is a slight imperfection the size of a pin head L.F. fender lip. (See Pics)

Body-

* Looking closely at the pictures you will see this is about as perfectly straight or close to laser straight as you could imagine (as for the hood, trunk, upper panels, top flat parts of the quarters, and the sides). (See Pics)

* I was unable to find any dents or creases.

* The gaps are very uniform on both the doors, hood, and trunk. (See Pics)

Magnets-

* I went over all body panels, and did not find any places that we did not detect metal underneath.

* We did detect that the paint depth all appeared some where in a show quality depth that is very typical in the 15-30 ml range, and the side panels where on the upper end of that. We would guess that this car could never be this beautifully straight without some type of a skim coat being used in process.

Chrome-

* All of the bright work around the windshield, wipers, mirrors, door handles, bumpers, and side strips all look like thatof a couple year old car.

* Bright work all seems to be secured properly, and have very little if any wear. The only exception being the drivers mirror does have some pitting on the base and that is why the owner is including a replacement mirror for the left door.

Glass-

* All the side glass (vents, door windows, rear seat windows) all have the same Car Lite marking on them.

* Glass is in a tint and could well be the original.

* The windshield is an Autoglass make, and we do not see any type of discoloring, delamination, wiper marks, bull-eyes, or scratches. However the owner said at night on the front windshield you will notice some light pitting from normal usage.

Tires and Wheels-

* American Classics Tires

* We do not see any visual damage, including any age cracking, or curb damage to the wheels or tires.

* Similar to the bright work on the car they look like that of a car just a couple years old.

* One or two of the spinners might have a small amount of pitting. (See Pics)

* Left Front- 215-75-15 Tread Remaining 10-11/32

* Left Rear- Same per owner Tread Remaining 10-11/32

* Right Front- 215-75-15 Tread Remaining 10-11/32

* Right Rear- Same per owner Tread Remaining 10-11/32

Top-

* Owner had new top installed a year or two after purchasing the car(2002).

*There are in depth wire diagrams to make it very simple to understand how the top mechanism works should it need any type of repair, and there is a remote control to operate the convertible top. Also has manual wired in contacts that are in the console as well. The original console switch works also.

* Top has good, even, rich coloring. We do not see any of the stitching coming lose, and the top seems very supple and soft with no cracks.

* The rear window is not yellowed, and is very nice and clear.

* Owner is unsure if frame work was repainted when top redone or if it happen prior, but you can see the black paint is really shiny and mes a real nice appearance on the inside of the car.

Interior-

* The materials (per owner) are all original OEM designed(in other words it duplicates the original interior).

* The sun visors are all solid, and in good condition.

* The vinyl is still very supple, (not dried up), and nice and pliable yet with good matching color.

* We do not notice fading as the car has not had much exposure outside.

* The interior is just like that of a car only a few years old, with good rich coloring in the carpets.(See Pics)

Trunk-

* Trunk has spare tire, and wheel that can be seen in the pictures

* Sometime after current owner purchased the car he redid the soft materials that lined the trunk, and so it has a very soft new look to the trunk area.

* Owner had entire truck area down to metal and no rust exist

Engine and Transmission-

* When looking under the hood, the owner indicated that the stickers that are placed on the engine are correct for everything, but the battery.

* You will see it is very nicely detailed. You will see that the windshield washer bag was kept very original, with slight modifications of some of the wiring being covered to neaten it up.

Chassis-

* It is a uni-frame construction, and we do not see any rust perforation. (See Pics)

* It looks solid, and that of a car that has had very little exposure to bad weather.

* I do not see anything underneath that appears to be modified, with the exception of a performance sounding exhaust system.

* We do not see any obvious rust repair, and it was left pretty natural underneath. No one has recently rustproofed or painted, to cover up anything.

* We can see the rear shocks have been replaced possibly years ago, and we can see that the oil filter was changed in June. If you look closely at the pictures you will see a slight amount of dampness around the engine, and transmission pan, but nothing other than what is considered very normal.

* If you see the tail shaft of the transmission, and the front of the rear end you will not see any excessive leaking there.

Mechanical-

* Head lights work

* High beams work

* Right front turn signal works

* Left front turn signal works

* Left and right indicators on fenders work, once in a while the right side does not work right away

* Windshield wipers work

* Mirror on left side adjust in all 4 directions

* Vent windows work on the right and left side

* Driver and passenger windows work up and down, back windows left and right work but are a little slower from less use

* Gear selector works

* Slide away wheel works in both positions

* Radio works on AM and FM

* Oil pressure gauge works

* Fuel gauge works

* Temperature gauge works

* Amp meter works

* Speedometer works

* No fluid in the washers because owner does not use them

* Clock works

* Left and right air vent work

* Heat works and fan runs on all 3 speeds

* Door ajar light works

* Flasher light works

* Low fuel light works per owner

* Tail lights work

* Brake lights works left and right

* Rear turn signals work left and right

* Back up lights work

* Right front fender indicator occasionally wont light

* Rear windows are slow to operate and a little on the weak side(sometimes needs help)

* Defroster not working - no air flow

Test Drive-

Chad rode with owner to put on the rack for pictures, car starts and runs smoothly. Chad drove back from rack shots a few miles. The car up shifts and down shifts smoothly and seems proper. Car accelerates smoothly and rides well. Car feels solid when going over minor road bumps and no incorrect rattles heard. Steering has good assistance and seems proper. Upon braking, I did not notice any pulsation or pulling. Title says non actual mileage.
