1979 Ford Other Pickups F100 XLT Additional Info:

1979 Ford Ranger XLT 302 with Air Conditioning and an absolute Mint interior. I purchased this truck as a 100% original vehicle that was 95% rust free. The only rust found on the truck was starting around the rear wheel wells under the chrome trim rings. I drove it for a while and then began a frame off restoration. The entire truck was sanded down to bare metal and the frame was 100% sanded. I mean everything was completely sanded to bare metal inside and out. UNDERCARRIAGE AND FRAME: After the sanding was complete I painted on POR 15. The Por 15 was done on the entire frame as well as the underside of the cab and bed. In addition to the Por15 I added under coating. SHEETMETAL: When I say I sanded the entire truck to bare metal that means everything. It took me over a month to complete the sanding. Once everything was sanded, I took each piece and primed them. In between primer coats I lightly sanded out the small imperfections. This was done three times. There are four coats of prime applied with sanding done prior to each prime coat. Every part that I completed is 100% ready for a last light sand and then paint. PARTS NOT COMPLETED: The hood and the bed are sanded to bare metal but have not been primed. I purchased two new complete bed sides and rear inner wells. I cut one side off of the bed and stopped there. The other bed side is untouched other than sanding. The new bed sides are not attached they are in their original boxes. The hood is sanded to bare metal but is not primed or ready for paint. Basically, the cab minus the hood is done and the bed is not done other than sanding and removing the one bed side. MOTOR AND TRANNY: The motor was perfect with zero issues prior to removing it. The transmission shifted perfectly and the rear was also perfect. I have over 100 pictures of this truck from first day of purchase through all of the work completed to date.
