1966 Ford Mustang Base Additional Info:

For sale is a recently redone 1966 Mustang. Has a few warts, but is mostly a fast, fun car. Great basis for street/track car. Hasn't been on the road until recently. Never in rain so far. Last driven (pre-rebuild) in early 90s. *A lot listed below, but please read closely. I've tried to give all the info I can about this car.

Engine: Ford-built GT40p 5.0, approx. 50K on it but refreshed with new roller timing set, B303 cam, hi-lift valve spring kit, Melling HV oil pump, Boss 302 style oil pan, Weiand Stealth manifold, 750cfm double pumper carburetor, hi volume coolant pump, Carter muscle car fuel pump, oil cooler, JBA headers feeding JBA Shelby side-exit exhaust sounds fantastic. 3-row radiator w. 2700cfm electric fan. Electronic distributor with adjustable vac and mech advance. Could probably use a dyno tune, but starts right up cold and idles nicely. Timing is set right now approx. 10 deg. Very quick, revs clean to 6K.

Drivetrain: WC T-5 trans w. Hurst shifter, shifts fine, new clutch/flywheel, new driveshaft, 9" center section w. 3.89:1 and 28-spline Yukon Traction-Lok in a Moser 3" housing, hydraulic clutch.
Brakes: new 4-pistion KH style front discs and standard v-8 rear drums, street pads/shoes, Cobra Auto 1" bore AL manual master cylinder, w. SS line kit, updated to 2-channel, 6 lb residual valve and proportioning valve, all new lines and braided SS flex lines. Stops quickly and straight, nice pedal feel.

Chassis: practically zero rust, almost all new from front to rear, new frame rails, aprons, support, new 1-piece full length floor pan, coated inside and out with Raptor, frame rails lined with Eastwood internal frame rail coating, special SMR Traction-masters f. 3" axle tubes, mig welded shock towers, welded SMR subframe connectors, export brace and Monte Carlo bar. Upgraded with convertible-style torque boxes up front.

Suspension: all new upper and lower arms, bushings, GT-rate springs, standard KYB shocks, 1" front sway bar, 1" Shelby drop and corresponding alignment settings. Decent BFG tires, 15x7" wheels w. spare. New Borgeson quick-ratio steering box, w. standard pitman/idler arms. Baer Tracker bumpsteer kit installed. Steers tight and straight, corners nicely.

Body: mostly new reproduction panels, new quarters, etc. I am not entirely happy with the door fitup but everything does line up, doors close tight. Paint is pretty new, decent job, but has chips, some dings from sitting long in the garage, holes under hood for pins are not very neatly done. See photos. LED tail light bulbs, plenty of forward lighting. All new wiring. Everything electric works except washer pump which I think is burnt out. New upholstery, front/rear windshields, carpet, headliner, 3" lap belts, new heater box, blows strong warm air. Has all proper insulation underneath and in roof, some mat in doors. Rear fire shield installed. Rear ventless battery. Deleted radio but has Bluetooth module and amp hidden inside dash. New 22 gallon fuel tank w. correct sender.

Has a couple of issues: previously mentioned body issues, slight leak in trunk when washed prob due to reproduction rear window gasket. Front gasket is Ford and seems watertight. Leaves a little oil after parked from rear seal or pan gasket, not sure why. Not a massive leak. Weird issue with wiper arm holes in cowl- passenger wiper rubs the opening just a little and has rubbed off the paint. Temp gauge reads a bit high. Engine is NOT running hot- fan cycles normally with 170 deg fan switch, temp does not run away when idling or running hard, it just settles at approx. the 3/4 mark when warm. Car has 180 deg. thermostat installed, new sender. I presume it's just the old (OE '66) gauge. Coolant is fine, not head gaskets or anything like that.

Videos of this car driving and running are on Instagram. Search the hashtag joelene1966 for ridealong videos, etc. Car is also listed on Poconos Craigslist with more photos. Low-Rated/No History Bidders will have their bids cancelled. I am home most days to show the car. Serious buyers only please. No tire kickers or joyriders. But please feel free to contact me with questions.

On Mar-29-19 at 13:53:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

***3/29/19 Car will include the Traction-masters but they could not be made to fit with the side exhaust unless the pipes are lowered a little or altered. So potential buyers can either have the mod done themselves, install Cal-tracs instead, or leave them off altogether. If this is a dealbreaker for any current bidders I'm sorry and will let you retract your bid.
