1966 Ford Mustang GT350 Tribute Additional Info:

Though the weather at the moment, depending on your location, might be a bit dreadful....there is no doubt that Spring time is right around the corner. Now more than ever, it is time to add that classic Mustang to your stable that you have always wanted!

On offer here is a 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback which has been built into a Shelby GT350 Tribute by one of its prior owners. The car is finished in the ever-iconic color combination of Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue over the top stripes and "GT350" rocker stripes! Right above those rocker stripes you will see the revered Shelby side scoops which have been molded right into the body of the car for a more sleek finish than factory on a 66 GT350 and the iconic Mustang quarter vent slats have been retained on this car as opposed to the Shelby Plexiglaswindows. The car rides on Mustang "Deluxe" styled steel wheels which are wrapped in BF Goodrich rubber with white letters. Finally, the car features a "bullitt" style side view mirror reminiscentof the 1966 GT350s and, last but not least, features a Shelby style hood with integrated scoop.
Power for this Shelby Tribute comes through a 289 V8 which is adornedwith "CS Shelby" alloy finned valve covers and is fed through dual quad Carter AFB Carburetorswhich send fuel and air down an aluminum Offenhauser intake manifold! The engine breaths out of a set of headers and the engine compartment is nice and tidy with no leaks or drips detected while the car has been here in Kansas City! The car had not been run often by its last owner, however, it fired right up upon being filled with fresh fuel and the drivetrain revs smoothly and strongly. The battery in the car was replaced two weeks ago. Power is transferredthrough a C4 automatic transmission and the car shifts into all forward and reverse gears with ease. Overall, the car has plenty of power, makes the right noise, and is ready to be taken to any local cruise night where it would present itself very well.
Inside, the new owner of this 66 Fastback will be impressed by the clean interior. The carpet and headliner present very well and the upholstery is in very nice shape as seen in the photographs. The car features an aftermarket stereo system with AM/FM tune-ability and the system makes great sound with aftermarket speakers mounted in the interior quarter panels. The automatic shifter handle is a wood "Cobra" style unit generally featured on 1968-1970 Shelby Mustangs! The car features a steering column mounted tachometer and racing style lap belt for the driver's side seat.
Overall, the cosmetics of this particular Shelby tribute are fairly strong. The paint presents itself well although it is driver quality. The paint has a nice shine and luster to it, is not checking, and shows well but is not perfect. The chrome bumpers and stainless trim show nicely on the car as do the wheels! The car is not cosmetically free of flaws (as you can see from the photographs) but, overall, this particular car offersquite a bit of "bang for the buck". Not only is the car (obviously) listed for a small fraction of what a real Shelby would go for, but it is also listed for substantially less than what many other Shelby Tribute type cars are currently listed for on eBay and other market sources....most of those seeming to be lower quality examples when you look closely at the photographs. This particularexample is clean and tidy, runs well, and looks the part. It would make for a wonderful car for the enthusiast to take to a local cruise night or enjoy on the open road to his/her heart's content or to improve as time and funds allow.
PLEASE NOTE: When viewing the pictures you might notice some airborneand resting white specks on the car. Those are not cosmetic defects...(for you Florida and California folk)...that is called "snow"! We have had it a bit rough this Winter in the Midwest and good days for photographing cars have been few and far between. I pulled this car down the street for some quick shots the other day with my iPhone and it did start to snow very lightly during the pictures. Please keep that in mind when you see any of those white specks on the car!
