IT WAS PURCHASED NEW AT BEATTIE FORD IN MONTEREY CA AND REMAINED IN THE CARMEL VALLEY AREA OF CALIFORNIA UNTIL IT WAS SOLD TO THE SECOND OWNER WHO RECENTLY BROUGHT IT UP HERE TO WASHINGTON STATE. THIS CAR HAS A CLEAR WA STATE TITLE WITH NO ACCIDENTS, BEYOND SMALL TOUCH UPS IT HAS HAD NO PAINT WORK SINCE NEW AND BESIDES ROUTINE MAINTENANCE IT HAS NEVER HAD A WRENCH ON THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS ASSEMBLED 52 YEARS AGO. THIS INCREDIBLE BENCH MARK 289 COUPE WAS ORDERED IN FEBRUARY OF 67 WHEN MRS. AYRES CAME INTO THE BEATTIE FORD DEALER AND WAS BUILT THE NEXT MONTH FOR HER. SHE TOOK OWNERSHIP LESS THEN 3 WEEKS AFTER TRADING IN HER 62 CHEVY WAGON ON THIS LIME GOLD COUPE AND IT WAS THEN WELL LOOKED AFTER, LOVED AND GARAGED BY HER FOR THE NEARLY 5 DECADES SHE HAD IT. THIS MUSTANG IS STILL IN IT'S ORIGINAL 100% ORIGINAL FACTORY ORIGINAL LIME GOLD LACQUER PAINT, PRISTINE ORIGINAL SADDLE INTERIOR AND AS SEEN IN THE PICS EVERY PART, NUT AND BOLT UNDER THE HOOD AND ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR IS ORIGINAL AND NEVER BEEN TOUCHED INCLUDING THE FACTORY CA AIR PUMP. UNDER THE HOOD IT HAS THE ORIGINAL #'S MATCHING 289 V8 THAT IS ALL FACTORY FORD ORIGINAL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE CARBURETOR. THERE IS JUST SOMETHING TO ME THAT IS INCREDIBLE ABOUT A MECHANICAL ITEM THAT IS PURPOSE BUILT TO BE EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS, BE ON ROADS AND EXPOSED TO DIFFERENT CLIMATES AND ELEMENTS AND STILL MAKE IT 30, 40 OR 50+ YEARS IN ORIGINAL PAINT. TO ME IT ALMOST MAKES A HERO OUT OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND THE CAR WHEN I SEE A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE LOOK THIS INCREDIBLE. WITH NOT ONE ALTERED ITEM, HAS NEAR MINT INTERIOR AND GORGEOUS GLOSSY ORIGINAL PAINT AFTER ALL THAT TIME, WEATHER, EXPERIENCES AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENTS. JUST FOR ONE SECOND THINK ABOUT 52 YEARS AGO AND WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE WORLD, THE CHANGES, THE GROWTH AND ABOUT WHERE YOU WERE AND WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE TO TRULY APPRECIATE THE CHOICES AND CARE THE ORIGINAL OWNER TOOK TO PRESERVE THIS CAR THAT AT THE TIME WAS JUST A LATE MODEL FAMILY CAR THAT WAS BUILT AND BOUGHT TO BE USED AND ABUSED. IV HAD THE LUCK AND PLEASURE OF HAVING THIS IN MY LINE UP AS I HAVE TRULY FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR BEFORE I EVEN HAD THE KEYS, BUT AS THE BUSINESS I'M IN I JUST CAN'T KEEP ALL OF THEM OR THERE WOULD BE NO BUSINESS, SO WHILE I HELD HER TIGHT, DROVE AND ENJOYED HER I WAS JUST A CARE TAKER AND IT'S TIME FOR HER TO GO TO THE NEXT OWNER. THIS CAR HAS JUST OVER 70K MILES SHOWING ON THE ODOMETER AND SHOWS IN MAINTENANCEWORK DONE SHE PUT VERY FEW MILES ON IT WITH LESS THEN 10K MILES BETWEEN 1995-2001. FROM 1998-2001 THERE WAS LESS THEN A 1000 PUT ON. I WAS TOLD AS SHE GREW OLDER FROM THE EARLY 2000’S UP UNTIL SHE SOLD IT IT MOSTLY SAT IN THE GARAGE AND PROBABLYWHY THERE IS NO RECEIPTSPAST THAT TIME AND WHY SHE PARTED WAYS WITH IT. THESE CARS WEREN’T BUILT IN THE 60’S TO HAVE TRIM AND INTERIOR PIECES STAND THE TEST OF TIME AND WERE BUILT IN A ERA OF A CAR BEING DOOMED IF IT HIT 100,000 MILES, SO I BELIEVE BY THE ORIGINALITY, CONDITION OF THE FOOT MEDALS, THE SEATS, HEADLINER AND OVERALL CONDITION OF THIS CAR IT IT 70,019 ACTUAL MILES.

BODY-THIS 1967 IS IN ALL ORIGINAL PAINT AND IS HAS ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL PANELS AND SHEET METAL, ORIGINAL CHROME, GLASS, AND TRIM PIECES. THE INCREDIBLE SURVIVOR CONDITION OF THIS MUSCLE CAR TRULY COMMUNICATES THE LOVE AND CARE IT HAS RECEIVED ALL OF ITS LIFE BY ITS LOVING OWNERS. THE PAINT IS STUNNING REALLY GIVES THIS CAR THAT COOL, 60’S FACTORY FRESH LOOK THAT YOU JUST DON’T SEE ON THE ROAD THESE DAYS. THERE ARE ONLY A FEW VERY MINOR IMPERFECTIONS ON THE BODY OF THIS CAR, WHICH IS UNBELIEVABLE WHEN YOU CONSIDER THIS CAR IS 452 YEARS OLD! IT COMES IN THIS NICE METALLIC LIME GOLDLACQUERPAINT AND IS 100% ORIGINAL WITH ALL PANELS AND SHEET METAL IN ORIGINAL AND UNALTERED. IT HAS BEEN HERE IN SEATTLE WA, ITS ENTIRELIFE AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED, SO IT HAS AN INCREDIBLE AND HIGH GLOSS FACTORY FINISH. THE METALLIC GREEN PAINT HAS THAT PROPER ORIGINAL LACQUERSHINE THAT NO MODERN REPAINT OR RESTORATION CAN REPLICATE. TRULY IMPRESSIVE SURVIVORBODY WITH VERY MINOR WEAR. ALL THE CHROME IS IN NICE SHAPE WITH A NICE DEEP MIRROR REFLECTION, BUT HAS SOME AGING. THE FRONT GRILLE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, ALONG WITH THE HEADLIGHT SURROUNDS. THE LIGHT LENSES ARE ALL FREE OF SUN FADING AND FULL OF BRIGHT ORIGINAL COLORS WITH NO CRACKS OR CONDENSATION. ALL LIGHTS WORK AS THEY SHOULD ALONG WITH ALL SWITCHES. THE DOOR FELTS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE FOR THEIR AGE AND THE ONES IN THE DOORS LOOK TO NEW. THIS CAR HAS HAS HAD THE ORIGINAL WHEELS AND CAPS REPLACED AT SOME POINT WITH THE UPGRADED SPECIAL CHROME STYLE WHEELS AND THEY GIVE THIS CAR THAT PERFECT FACTORY BROCHURE LOOK WRAPPED IN THOSE SKINNY BIAS PLY WHITE WALLS. THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CAR THERE ARE ONLY VERY MINOR SIGNS OF WEAR AND AGE. YOU WILL FIND SOME SMALL STONE CHIPS IN THE TYPICAL SUSCEPTIBLEAREAS SUCH AS THE FRONT FASCIAOF THE HOOD AND THE ROCKERS BEHIND THE WHEELS AND TIRES, AS WELL AS SOME VERY SLIGHT ENTRY WEAR ON THE DOOR EDGES, AND SOME MINOR SCRATCHING IN SOME OF THE BODY PANELS. THERE IS A SMALL SOFT DENT BEFORE THE BUMPER THE DRIVERS SIDE ALONG WITH A THIN CREASE THAT HAS NO PAINT DAMAGE. THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL WELL LIP CAME IN CONTACT WITH SOMETHING IN THE PAST ALONG WITH A SCUFF ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR. THERE IS SOME WEAR AND SURFACE RUST ON THE FRONT OF HOOD AND TOP OF FENDERS, BUT IN MY OPINION, IT JUST GIVES IT THAT KILLER SURVIVOR LOOK. ALL BOLTS ALONG THE HOOD, FENDERS, DOORS AND TRUNK HAVE NOT HAD A WRENCH ON THEM OR BEEN TOUCHED THAT FURTHER MORE SHOWS THE VIRGIN CAR THAT THIS IS. THERE IS SOME THINNING IN THE PAINT ON THE PASSENGER FENDER AND IN THE CENTER OF THE DRIVER DOOR AND YOU WILL FIND MINOR WEAR AS EXPECTED AROUND THE CAR, BUT THE PAINT STILL HAS THAT NICE SMOOTH FEEL AND WET LOOK. THIS TRULY IS JUST A GORGEOUS CLASSIC AND GUARANTEED TO BLOW YOU AWAY WITH ITS CRISP, WELL LOVED, CLEAN AND ORIGINAL CONDITIONAS IT IS NO SMALL FEAT TO MAKE IT OVER 50 YEARS AND HAVE A CAR LOOK THIS NICE! INTERIOR-THE HARD TO FIND AND INCREDIBLE SURVIVOR CONDITION OF THE EXTERIOR OF THIS CAR CONTINUES THROUGH TO THE INTERIOR AND IS IN TRULY REMARKABLE ORIGINAL AND PRESERVED CONDITION! MY FAVORITE FEATURE OF THIS CARS INTERIOR IS THAT SHE CHOSE THE SADDLE COLOR OVER THE GREEN YOU USUALLY SEE AND IT GIVES THIS CAR A VERY TASTEFULAND CLASSIC LOOK. THIS MUSTANGS INTERIOR HAS BEEN PET AND SMOKE FREE SINCE NEW AND IS IN UNBELIEVABLEALL FACTORY ORIGINAL1967 TIME CAPSULE SHAPE. THIS INTERIOR IS IN AMAZING CONDITION FROM TOP TO BOTTOM AND BACK TO FRONT! THE HEADLINER, VINYL ON DOOR PANELS AND THE SEATS ARE IN NEARLY FLAWLESS CONDITION. THE DASH IS IN NICE SHAPE WITH 100% TRUE COLOR AND THERE IS ONLY ONE SMALL CRACK NEAR STEREO, SOME SURFACE RUST ON THE PAINTED AREAS AND THE TOP OF THE DASH PAD HAS A SPILL STAIN. IT HAS CLEAR GAUGES AND ALL THE ORIGINAL SWITCHES AND GAUGES ALL FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY! THE MANUAL WINDOWS ALL ROLL UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY, INCLUDING THE FLY WINDOWS THAT STAY IN PLACE AND THE ELECTRIC REAR TAIL GATE WINDOW MOVES SMOOTH AND QUICKLY, BUT THE DRIVER DOOR GLASS DOES LIKE TO SLIP DOWN ABOUT A HALF INCH AFTER DRIVER FOR A WHILE. THE HEADLINER IS IN PERFECT SHAPE WITH NO WATER DAMAGE, SAGE, HOLES OR FADING, AS ARE THE VISORS WHICH ARE SOLID AND STAY IN WHATEVER POSITION YOU LEAVE THEM IN. THE FRONT BUCKERS AND REAR BENCH SEAT ARE IN FLAWLESS CONDITION AND ARE STILL NICE AND SOFT. THE CARPET SHOWS WELL FOR BEING NEARLY 50 YEARS OLD, BUT DOES HAVE SOME SUN FADING AND FOOT WEAR WITH BREAKDOWN IN FRONT OF THE TWO FRONT SEAT, BUT ARE COMPLETELY COVERED WITH THE CUSTOM MADE RUBBER FLOOR MATS. THE BRAKE PAD AND GAS PEDAL RUBBER HAVE VERY LITTLE WEAR, FURTHER CONFIRMING THE LOW ORIGINAL MILES. . THERE IS SOME WEAR AND AGING IN THE LOWER FRONT KICK PANELS AND THE METAL PART PAINTED PART OF THE DOOR PANELS HAVE SOME LITTLE SURFACE MARKS ALONG WITH THE REAR PANELS THAT ARE ON THE SIDES OF THE SEATS. BOTH DOORS POP OPEN WITH EASE AND CLOSE WITH THAT NICE VAULT-LIKE SOUND, FREE OF ANY SAG OR HINGE ISSUES AND ALL LOCKS WORK CORRECTLY. THE PAINT IN THE DOOR JAMBS IS STILL SHINY AND YOU CAN SEE THE ORIGINAL DECALS AND VIN PLATE IN PRISTINE CONDITION. THIS INTERIOR IS TRULY IN IMPRESSIVE AND VERY HARD TO FIND CONDITION ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU LOOK AT MOST OF THE INTERIORS ON ORIGINAL MUSTANGS.

MECHANICAL-FOR BEING 5 DECADESOLD THIS SURVIVOR IS BEYOND A CLEAN CAR ALONG THE UNDERSIDE AND UNDER THE HOOD THAT HAS JUST THAT RIGHT WORN, BUT ORIGINAL LOOK. IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH THE ICONIC 289 V8 POWERPLANT, C4 AUTO TRANSMISSION AND POWER STEERING. IT HAS NO MUD, GREASE OR GRIME BUILD UP AND IS VERY CLEAN AND DRY. THIS COUNTRY SQUIRE HAS A HONEST, ORIGINAL AND SANITARY ENGINE BAY. IT IS TRULY UN-TOUCHED AND 1967 ORIGINAL BESIDES YOU NORMAL MAINTENACE ITEMS. IT STILL HAS IT’S ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA AIR PUMP HOOKED UP AND WORKING, THE DRIVE-TRAIN HAS NEVER BEEN APART OR REMOVED. ON THIS ENTIRE CAR YOU HAVE TO MAKE SEVERAL PASSES AROUND IT AND OVER THE PHOTOS TO REALLY TAKE IN IT’S CONDITION AND HARD TO FIND ORIGINALTY. THIS DELIVERS A NICE SOLID ORIGINAL 1967 DRIVE AND FEEL WITH SOLID AND RESPONSIVE BRAKES AND STEERING WITH NO PLAY OR SLACK. DELIVERS A RATTLE FREE DRIVE THAT SOAKS UP THE BUMPS AND DELIVERS A NICE RIDE. WITH THE ELECTRIC CHOKE CARBURETOR THE LEGENDARY 289 ALWAYS FIRES RIGHT UP, RUNS VERY SMOOTH AND QUIET WITH A VERY RESPONSIVE THROTTLE THAT PULLS THIS BIG MUSTANG WITH EAZ. THERE IS NO NOISES, SMOKING, TICKING OR BIG LEAKS COMING FROM THIS MOTOR. THE AUTOMATIC TRANS SHIFTS SMOOTHLY AND QUICK THROUGH THE GEARS AND DOWN SHIFTS IMMEDIATELY WHEN IT SHOULD AND NEVER SLIPS OR SHUTTERS. THIS 289 WILL PUT YOU IN YOUR SEAT ONCE YOU PUT THE FOOT DOWN AND THE SKINNY LITTLE BIAS BY TIRES HAVE A HARD TIMEGRABBING TRACTION IF YOU DON’T GO EASY ON THE SKINNY PEDAL ?? FACTORY POWER STEERING MAKE IT A VERY EASY TO MANEUVER CAR! EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL UNDER THIS CAR AND IT HANDLES LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT A OLDER ORIGINAL CAR TO HANDLE LIKE SO, I WOULD MAYBE THROUGH SOME NEW SHOCKS ON DOWN THE ROAD, BUT IT IS NOT NEEDED. THIS CAR ALSO HAS THE FACTORY SIZED SKINNY BIAS PLY TIRES THAT GIVE THAT KILLER LOOK, BUT BIAS PLAY TIRES ARE WHY RADIALS WERE INVENTED AND DO RIDE DIFFERENT THEN RADIALS. THIS CAR DRIVES AND RIDES SMOOTH, BUT WITH HOW SKINNY THEY ARE AND HOW BIAS TIRES ARE MADE THEY TEND TO NO BE AS SMOOTH AS RADIALS AND ON OLD TORN AND PATCHED ROADS THEY WILL GRAB THE GROOVES. THIS CAR IDLES FINE AND HAS NEVER DIED, BUT AT LOW RPMS IT WILL HICK-UP SOMETIMES, SO MAY NEED SOME ADJUSTMENTS DOWN THE ROAD OR MAY JUST NEED TO BE DRIVEN AND GET SOME BLOOD RUNNING THROUGH HER. AS MENTIONED ABOVE THIS CAR DOESN’T HAVE ANY IMMEDIATE NEEDS, BUT AS ANY SURVIVOR FIND IT MAY NEED LITTLE ITEMS DEPENDING ON THE NEW OWNERS VISION AND PLAN FOR THE CAR, BUT IF I DIDN'TALREADY HAVE A 66 SURVIVOR COUPE I WOULD THROW SOME RADIALS ON IT, NEW FUEL TANK SINCE THEY ARE SO CHEAP, REBUILD CARB OR ADD A FI-TECH 2BBL FUEL INJECTION AND A NICE SET OF DUAL EXHAUST TO OPEN UP THAT 289’S SOUND, THEN JUST DRIVE IT AS MUCH AS I COULD!!

Because of this, it is very difficult to describe each vehicle to everyone’s satisfaction.
