1988 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer 4WD
This Bronco is very clean for its age. It is a California vehicle and the condition shows. California clean and clear title. Miles shows 40,492 but it is a five digit odometer so I believe it is 140,492 because of the condition of the car. History reports show one owner. I have owned it for about a year. I didn't drive it in the winter, to keep it out of the snow and salt. I have enjoyed it in the spring and summer. It is now ready for its new owner to enjoy.
The body is very solid. Paint in great shape for its age as well. Blue on the top and Eddie Bauer tan on the bottom. Tan pin strip as well. Could use a buff or a wax. Rear removal-able top is nice too. I have never taken it off. No major dents. I don't see any visible rust in the rear quarters. Some small surface rust has formed on the lower front right fender, see pictures. No holes or anything like that. Also some small surface rust on the drivers side top drip rail by the door. Has bug guard on front of hood. Chrome bumper are nice and shinny. All glass is good. Paint looks to be original. I am no paint expert but I don't see any over spray. All trim is in good shape. Grill in nice all well.
Starts right up and runs well. Transmission shifts like it should. Four wheel drive works great. When I purchased it one of the front hubs were broken. I had new warn hubs put on both sides. As well as outer front axles, spindles, brake rotors and hub assemblies, wheel bearings and seals on both sides. Also had the cooling system flushed. New serpentine belt and tensioner assembly. Transmission fluid was serviced as well. All work preformed January 2018. In June I had new factory style muffler and tail pipe installed. I drove it this summer and it worked well. The steering is a bit loose. All tires match, they have about quarter life left. Has spare. Drivers side front hub cover is missing. I have seen them for sale on eBay for around thirty five dollars. It does leak some oil here and there. Nothing is pouring out but does drip overnight.
Interior is very nice. Dash and door panels in nice shape with no cracking. The Eddie Bauer seats are nice with no rips or tears, rear seat has a couple of small black stains on the bottom cushion. Headliner is great. Carpet is clean with no tears. The trim around the four wheel drive lever is broken. Heater works. The car is equipped with a/c and the light comes on when the button is pushed but it does not blow cold. The gas gauge works but doesn't work properly. When it is full it goes way past full. I have never run low on fuel so I don't know when the gauge will show empty. The speedometer and odometer function. Has an after market cd player that works. Wipers work as well as the power windows and door locks. The rear tailgate winnow works too. The automatic transmission shift indicator on the dash above the steering column is broken.
Very solid Bronco for its age. Finding these with no rust is practically impossible. When I was looking for one I wanted a California example because of the mild weather. I have really enjoyed this Bronco.
