1970 Ford Mustang Sports Roof Additional Info:

Attention Mustang lovers and Muscle car collectors! Original 1970 “Bullitt” Mustang up for sale –Very Rare! At any given time you can find hundreds of 69/70 Mach 1’s and dozens of Boss clones for sale around the country. When was the last time you saw an original 1970 428 CJ “R” code plain-Jane sports roof? This Mustang was ordered with the 428-4V CJ ram air and 4 speed combo that you see mostly in Mach 1’s. It came from the factory painted in the “Bullitt” Dark Ivy Green Metallic and standard Black Rhino interior. The only options beyond the big engine and manual trans are power DB, PS, AM 8 track and Traction-Lok differential. This Mustang has been owned by the same family since 1972 and had not been driven since 1981. The owner passed away in 1990 and the car was handed down to his son in 1991. The car went into storage until 2006 when the restoration process started. The car just finished a multi-year complete restoration in March 2018. This included a complete engine rebuild, flawless paint, interior, wiring and much more. The car has less than 54, 000 original miles on it and has never been driven in the winter. There was NO rust repair needed and all original sheet metal (including all floor pans) are intact. The car is perfect in every way and shows better than new. It has the 3.00 rear gear so it’s a very nice cruiser. The engine, transmission and rear end are all numbers matching and original to the car, along with all the major internal engine parts. We upgraded to a modern spec cam and MSD distributor for better all-around starting and engine performance. The engine made a very respectable 386hp and over 500 ft lbs torque on the dyno. It runs beautifully on 91 non-oxy fuel. The Marti report lists only 249 Mustangs equipped like this wonderful car. I have only seen a couple of Mustangs show up in this configuration. You will not find another car like this. This is an opportunity to own one of the most unique ’70 Mustangs ever produced and to have it survive.
