1979 Ford F-350 Ranger Additional Info:

For sale is the rare opportunity to purchase what is arguably the most desirable 4x4 trucks ever made by the Ford Motor Company. 1979 was the first year that Ford offered a 4x4 in the F350 (1-Ton) platform. Prior to this, the heaviest duty 4x4 offered was on the F250.
The 1979 F350 offered Dana 60 axles in both the FRONT and REAR! The largest and most powerful engine offered in the 1979 F350 4x4 was the 400 CI 2bbl, which this truck has. The 460ci engine was not available in the '79 F350 4x4! It is mated to a stout C-6 Transmission that has an New Process 205 Transfer case! This was one serious off road vehicle, straight from the factory!
There were a little over 11,000 F350's 4x4's built in '79. In the last 40 years most of these trucks were used up as work trucks, hunting rigs or are rusted out hulks requiring extensive repair. It is rare to find one in such amazing condition! I am the 3rd owner of this truck. It was bought new here at Mock Ford in Grants Pass, Oregon. The original owner bought a deluxe Ford topper (or camper shell) that remains with the truck today. It has remained within 45 miles of where it was bought for its entire life. It has been garage kept since new! It has just over 80,000 miles on its original driveline.
This truck has 100% of its original paint! The paint is in fabulous condition, with the exception of a few rock chips and minor scratches. The paint is not checked, faded, stained or otherwise compromised! The trim is in amazing condition. The trim is original; it has not been stripped and polished. It still wears the factory clear anodizing and its condition is as a result of being stored indoors since new. The interior is in amazing condition. The original owner re-upholstered the front seat and had carpet installed. When I bought the truck, the carpet was worn and faded, so I replaced it with a kit from Auto Custom Carpets. When I pulled up the carpets the floor pans were AS NEW! No rust whatsoever! The dash does have a couple cracks (see photos).
The underside of the truck is as clean as the rest of it. It was never undercoated and the factory sheet metal, red oxide primer, factory blue overspray and sound deadener are all visible. There is ZERO rust on this truck! It has never been in an collision, although it does have a couple areas of very slight body damage. The right front fender has a SLIGHT ripple, this is the extent of the body damage, although it does have a few "garage dings" here and there. The second owner was responsible for these areas as he took the truck off road and used it occasionally as his hunting rig. He was also responsible for the bullet hole near the top of the drivers side bed! The photos show the condition of the truck better than I can describe it.
Even thought the second owner was responsible for some battle scars he cared for the truck and took great care of it. He added a 4" skyjacker lift including Rancho shocks and re-arced springs ($2,165.00), 17"x9" Ultra Wheels and 35" tires ($2100.00). He also had the original C-6 transmission rebuilt ($2200.00). The rebuilt transmission has less than 1000 miles on it! All these records are included with the sale!
He replaced the front and rear windows including the gaskets. He meticulously maintained the truck including new brake shoes, new brake pads, new front calipers, turned rotors and drums, new aluminum radiator, new axle bearings / seals, etc (records included).
The truck starts and drives beautifully! It drives tight and sounds great! The power steering and power disk brakes work great. I wish all of you could come see it and drive it in person and to appreciate its condition. It is currently licensed and registered and has a clear title. All the lights, gauges, windows, etc. operate as they should.
I have copy of a Marti Report and it is included.
Please note, I have chosen to preserve this vehicle. I have not "paint bombed" the underside, repainted the bumper, grill or headlight surrounds. I am confident that doing this could give it a "fresher" look, but I appreciate its originality and amazing factory condition.

Also, I did not "score" this amazing truck for a "song" from someone who had not idea what it was or what it was worth! The second owner of this truck was well of aware of its rarity, its awesome factory components, and its exceptional condition. He was also aware of the thousands of dollars that he put into the truck! I paid a fair amount for this truck. I have enjoyed it and have decided to pass it along to someone else who will enjoy it as much as I have. That being said, I am not desperate. I do not "need" to sell this truck. I will not let it go for a "song".
1970's Ford trucks are appreciating in value. Nice trucks are bringing a lot of money and are appreciating much more that the "farm trucks" that we frequently see here on Ebay. Trucks like this that are in amazing condition and outfitted with awesome factory options and tasteful upgrades will remain desirable and lead the curve on appreciation. This truck will be worth more next year than it is worth today.
You are welcome to come look at this truck. I live in Grants Pass, Oregon (97526). The nearest airport is Medford (MFR). A $500 paypal deposit is required within 48 hours if you are successful in buying this truck. If the deposit is not made, you lose the opportunity to purchase the truck. The remainder can be paid as cash (in person) or wire transfer. Any fees for wire transfer must be paid by the buyer! Transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer. I can store the truck for 30 days (inside) with no problems. You can always fly into Medford and drive this truck home!
If you have less than 5 Ebay transactions or negative feedbacks, please contact me before bidding as I may cancel your bids. I have found that buyers with these criteria tend to bid and not follow through, wasting my time and the time of other bidders. That being said, I understand that everyone starts out as a new Ebayer, so please contact me if this is you!
I do reserve the right to end this auction early and sell locally! If you are in love with this truck and "must have" it, contact me with your offer. If we agree on a price and terms, I will end the auction, but you must come in with a strong offer. I also reserve the right to lower my reserve price. If I decide to let it go and you have made a bid that does not meet my reserve, I could pull the reserve and you could be the high bidder!
I will ship this truck nationally and internationally! Foreign bidders are welcomed and encouraged! I have been an Ebay member for over 15 years. I have 100% positive feedback and I frequently sell items that buyers are always pleased with! I accurately describe my items, pointing out both the positive AND negative! I provide photos that accurately show the condition of my items! When you buy from me there are NO SUPRISES. This sale will be no different!
For international customers; all terms are USD. The nearest shipping port to me is Richmond / Oakland, California. West Coast Shippinghttps://www.wcshipping.com/ or CFR Rinkenshttps://www.cfrrinkens.com/ both ship out of this port. You can contact them for a price to ship from the US to your country. They will ensure the vehicle clears US customs and is loaded into a container here in the US. They typically charge you for the transportation once it arrives at your port. You will also be responsible for import duties. West Coast or CFR Rinkens can also pick up the truck from my home. If you like, I can offer insured and certified transport to West Coast or CFR Rinkens in Richmond / Oakland California for $400 additional. West coast or CFR Rinkens will probably quote a price of $600+ to ship from my house to the port. I can do it (using their same shippers) and save you money, but the decision is yours to make!
Payment is due within 10 days of winning the auction. This gives domestic buyers plenty of time to get to the bank and make things happen. International buyers will need to follow through quickly, as it has taken me 7 business days to receive international wires in the past. Either way, the truck will not leave here until it is paid in full. As I previously stated, you can show up with cash and that is no problem!
Bid to own! This is a rare opportunity on an AWSOME TRUCK!
