1957 Ford Thunderbird Additional Info:

I looked for a nice 57 for several months and found a few in my price range, but as nice as they looked in the pics they never turned out to be as presented. Mostly sloppy body work easily seen up close. This car is not perfect but the frame on restoration was very well done. The car needs nothing to be enjoyed as soon as its delivered. About a month ago I performed a major tune up on the car. it sat in the garage most of last winter because I just didn't have time to work on it or even drive it much. The winter killed the battery so I installed a new one. I replaced all the ignition components. The transmission was serviced last fall as well as the differential. The brakes are still drum and are in good shape. stops well no pulling. The engine runs great and doesn't use oil or smoke or make any tell tale noises. I just replaced the valve cover gaskets last week and the heads and rockers looked new. The steering gear box was not replaced when it was restored so it has a fair amount of play in the steering but it handles fine and doesn't drift much. If you don't want to pay $50K or more on a nut and bolt restoration and want a car virtually everyone wants pictures of when you stop for gas this may be the one for you. I will not divulge the reserve but its much lower than asking price for any comparable car I've seen currently listed. If it gets close I may lower the reserve, lets see how it goes. I DO NOT NEED TO SELLTHIS CAR, I will not sacrifice it.Please do not bid if you cant afford the car. I cant stress that enough. Been there too many times and it just makes a mess and costs money.I'm happy to talk to anyone serious about the car. Ask questions if you have any. EXAMINE the pics please. I've been as honest about condition as I can. Thanks for lookingJim
