1947 Ford Super Deluxe Survivor

This is an un-restored 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe that retains a majority of its original parts. It shows just over 63,000 miles and is one of the nicest original cars that I’ve run across, especially given its age. It has not been wrecked, rodded, or rusted out. It was purchased new in Georgia and has remained with one family, seeing lots of parade and car show action and trips up the east coast judging by the 1940’s – 1970’s census road maps in the glove box.

The body is all Ford, straight, and rust-free. Most of the paint on this classic appears to be original. There are a couple of places where the old lacquer was spot repaired, and the paint is worn thin in places from years of polishing. Overall, an amazing finish for over 71 years old.

The flathead V8 starts quickly and runs smoothly without smoking. A Pertronix ignitor and coil were added years ago, along with a new carb, tank, and sending unit. The standard trans shifts smoothly, and the brake work well – including the e-brake. What appears to be the original spare looks like its never been on the ground.

All of the stainless exterior trim is in very nice shape, and any imperfections could easily be planished, filed, and re-polished to perfect. The chrome overall is in very nice shape.

The interior has been well taken care of and looks correct for the car’s age. It is a bit tattered, showing some split seams and door panel wear, but matches the rest of the car.

The 6V electrical system and lights all work, including the single reverse light mounted above the rear bumper.

This car is a time capsule and has beautiful patina, with everything of matching condition. I’ve driven it at highway speeds without incident. It never fails to turn heads. I’ve been involved in Hot Rods for many years, and this one is just too cool as-is!

This car is listed in several places, and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

I can deliver to Louisville to the NSRA Nats if desired. I have other projects, but interesting trades considered. Car sold with a clean Bill of Sale, as Georgia does not require or issue titles.
