1976 Ford Thunderbird Creme & Gold ONE OWNER FROM NEW EXTENSIVE DOCUMENTATION VIDEO WITH LISTING VIN: 6Y87A111679 6: 1976 Y: Wixom, Michigan Assembly Plant 87: Thunderbird 2dr Hardtop A: 460vi 4V V8 111679: Unit Number Color (6YNY): Gold Starfire, Gold Odense Grain half-vinyl roof Trim (RY): Creme and Gold Leather, two tone trim Transmission (U): C6 3spd Automatic Axle (0): 3.00:1 Limited Slip Sold new at Ray Krenek Ford in Hartford, Michigan, this ‘76 T-bird remained in Michigan with its original owner until just this year. As it sits, this is a very original,... well-documented T-bird in an interesting spec, having been optioned with the Creme and Gold Luxury Package. This package was only available for the ‘76 model year, and was a costly option, upping the car’s cost by $793 ($3,500 today). The option package included two-tone Gold Starfire paint, gold pinstripes along the belt line, two-tone leather interior, deep dish aluminum wheels, and 24-oz cut pile carpeting. The car will be sold with the original manuals/booklets and packaging, protecto-plate and ownercard, as well as receipts for $2k of services completed over the last couple of months. Since purchasing the car we’ve replaced the fuel tank, starter solenoid, rebuilt the carburetor, rear brake wheel cylinders and lines, air filter, and changed the oil. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as every blemish on the car is shown close-up and in direct sunlight. Blemishes include a handful of small chips, bubbling on the forward portion of the rocker, as well as some visible wear on the top. - Deep dish aluminum wheels are in nice shape, with no curb rash. Tires are in pretty good shape, though they do look a bit older. DOT A2NX205. - Glass and light lenses are clear and crack-free. - Chrome is excellent throughout, with minimal oxidation. Weatherstripping is in good shape as well. Interior: - Interior is quite good. Dash presents very well, with no cracks or damage. Seats are in great shape, with very little visible wear. Even the outer bolsters are nicely intact, with no major scuffs or damage. Rears are excellent. Passenger seatbelt is frayed where it passes through the shoulder mount. - Headliner is tight. Carpeting is in nice shape as well. - Both the original AM/FM radio and Realistic TRC424 CB radio are functional. Fan is functional, R12 air conditioning is not. Power windows and seat adjustments are functional as well. - Odometer reads 18,752 miles, actual mileage is unknown. Under the Hood / Underbody: - This car retains its original engine and transmission, a 460ci 4V V8 and C6 3spd automatic. The engine bay is pretty tidy, with multiple factory stickers still clearly legible. Underhood liner is perfectly intact as well. - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. Underbody looks pretty good; while there’s quite a bit of superficial surface rust, there’s nothing of even remotely any structural concern. We have replaced those leaky rear wheel cylinders. The only through rust is on the catalytic converters, so those should eventually be replaced. - The car runs and drives pretty well. I won’t say it’s the most perfect T-bird we’ve ever had (exhaust leak, slight steering play, older tires), but it’ll certainly get you where you’re going and it’s a phenomenally comfortable ride. With some minor attention, this would be a great driver. Overall, this is a rare, original, well-documented and well-optioned car.
