1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Two Door Sedan Paint / Body: In 1950, Ford had two models. The base model called a "Deluxe" and the top model called a "Custom Deluxe". Of course the top model came with a few more items.
The body was refinished in a Nissan "Hot Red" paint color. (Code: "526" 1986-1994) It is a base color/clear coat type of paint and it is holding up pretty well. There is some body filler in the lower sections of the vehicle along with some rust bubbles starting to pop out. There may be some small chips or nicks here and there that can be easily touched up. There are no dents or dings. The paint is shiny, but could use a quick wet sanding and buffing to make it really pop. The area under the fuel door is a little dull because of over filling the fuel and it seeping down the side of the car. Not sure if that shine will come back if it is wet sanded and buffed. The hood and door alignment is good with the correct gaps and lines. The trunk lid needs alignment, but doesn't leak and has a new weatherstripping. (Raised up on the driver's side. See photo #32)
Chrome / Trim: All of the chrome is in very nice condition. The front and rear bumpers along with bumper guards and some of the other chrome pieces look great with a deep shine. The grill area is nice with no pitting. The door handles may have some pitting starting. The rest of the stainless steel trim pieces are also very nice. The car has a two side view mirrors.(Left and right) The owner added the "V8" emblems to the front fenders that go very well with the vehicle. It also has stainless steel front fender gravel guards installed along with a fuel door guard.
Interior: The seats (front and rear) along with the headliner (w/Two sunvisors) were redone a few years ago. The gray cloth/vinyl fabric is holding up very well and is clean and free of any wear or stains. There is one little hole in the vinyl on the side of the driver's seat from a spring inside the seat. (See photo #46) The door panels are in nice shape along with the arm rests and knob hardware. The original steering wheel was professionally restored and looks great with no cracks or chips. It has the original chrome horn ring that came with the "Custom Deluxe" models. The front seating area has a rubber floor mat and the rear seating area has a piece of carpet. Both are in very nice shape. There is nothing on the car that does not work. All of the original gauges are working along with the other electrical items such as the horns, lights, high/low beams, heater, cigarette lighter, brake lights and turn signals. (The turn signals were added for safety, and are non-canceling) A newer type AM/FM/Cassette radio was added along with dual speakers in the front and rear. It is fitting into the original radio space in the dash and looks great. The wiper are vaccum driven and are working. The original style clock was converted to quarts movement and is also working. A traffic light viewer is install on the dash. The glove box area is clean and still has a factory decal installed.
Engine Compartment: The engine compartment has the correct 239 Cu. In. "Flathead" 100HP V8 engine. Most likely original to the vehicle. (Appox. 93k original miles). It starts and runs great. Has the typicle drip or two of oil if it sits for a while. Bolted to this power plant is the stock 3-speed manual transmission, column shift. "Three on the tree". It also has the original overdrive setup. The power train is all working like it should. The old generator was swapped out with a more efficient 6 volt one wire alternator to help run the headlights and other items. The 6 volt battery is also working great. There is nothing on this car that does NOT work. No mechanical issues. The belt, hoses, clamps, spark plugs, plug wires, points and coil have always been well maintained and are all are in great shape with no problems. An electric fuel pump was added to help with the cold starts making sure the fuel gets to the stock carburator. Under the hood has a few chrome parts giving the car a true "custom" look. The vehicle comes with a Ford Shop Manual.
Trunk Area: The trunk looks very stock with all the correct items. It has a black trunk mat. The original looking bias-ply spare tire is in nice shape along with the jack, jack stand and jacking tools.
Glass: All of the windows are in nice shape including the two piece windshield. There are no cracks, scratches, or chips. The side windows roll up and down normally without any problems or issues. The two door sedan vehicles were equipped with front and rear vent windows.(All are working great.) The rear window has a new seal around it.
Wheels and Tires: The car has the stock 15" steel rims with the original Ford hubcaps and trim rings. All are in nice shape. They look good with the red painted rims. Mounted on these wheels are newer Mastercraft steel belted radial whitewall tires. (Less than 100 miles) Size: 205/75R15 with plenty of tread. The vehicle drives straight and does not pull or vibrate at high speeds.
Undercarriage: The frame is a little rusty but solid, straight, and without any problems. The floor and trunk pans are original with no signs of any repairs or issues. The underside is still pretty clean but not detailed. The car has been lowered 2" and the suspension is in good working order with no issues or noises. It has a dual exhaust system running from the stock manifolds back to the rear with chrome tips. It seems solid with no holes or weak areas and sounds great. The factory brakes have been gone over and are working fine with no problems or leaks.
(Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why I took a few pictures of the bottom.)

The odometer is working and showing 23,250 miles. The actual original mileage is around 93,000.
The vehicle has a free and clear original title that is ready to signed over.
Is the vehicle perfect? No, but it is mechanically very sound. Everything is working correctly with no problems. The vehicle will need nothing
to just get in and start driving and enjoying the summer. The lower body panels may have some body filler and rust bubbles,
but that is not a big problem especially with a vehicle in this price range.
The owner has set a reasonable reserve price that is lower then most other comparable cars.
This would be a great car for someone to enjoy with their family and ticker around.
