1966 Ford Mustang Additional Info:

Do not miss out on this rare opportunity! Your chance to obtain one of the finest, low mile, survivor,1966 Mustangs you will ever find. There are only a handful of survivor first generation Mustangs this nice left in the U.S. and the number can only get smaller as time passes. As the saying goes, "they are only original once". ANDthis one is as iconic as it gets;convertible, red on red, white top, 289c.i. V-8, 4sp, chromed styled wheels, and dual red line striped tires! This Mustang has addeddesirabilityas it was built at Fords west coast assembly plant in San Jose CA and still bears it's original & unique to San Jose assembly line markings on the left & right front frame rails, front radiator support, under side of hood, variousremnantsof paint dabs on suspension parts & chassiscomponents, etc...really making this Mustang a true bench mark quality survivor. This Mustang has an absolutely near flawless & factory perfect straight body that appears as rust free as the day it was made. It is evident that from day one, this Mustang owners have avoided even driving it in the rain and sparingly allowed it to get wet which makes this one incredibly dry and rust free Mustang. The body also appears to be 100% accident free sporting its factory original body panels. The paint is mostly original and shows extremely well considering its age. The original vinyl interior is also in excellent shape overall for its age with only the real wear and patina showing up on the bottom of the driver seat area. You will not find a better looking original dash as all the switches, heater controls, radio, gauges, glove box door, etc are inphenomenal condition. Under the dash area is beautiful and is nearly as nice as the day it was made with all the hardware still wearing the correct original factory finishes. All the original chrome and stainless around the windows appears near show room new with not even a hint of pitting on the chrome anywhere to be found. The original window felts are still present and in excellent shape as well. The convertible top and rear window are new and in perfect condition. The red convertible top boot cover is original and in beautiful condition and has the factory part numbers and date stamps on it as does the well liner. The underside of this Mustang is in just as amazing condition and is absolutely beautiful still wearing it's factory applied red-oxide bottom paint sealer, seam sealers, under-coat splats, black-out treatments, etc..again making this a bench mark quality survivor. The trunk still has it's original factory rubber mat along with the jack and rare correct early style ratchet lug wrench with original jacking instruction sticker on the inside trunk lid. Even areas like inside the glove box and the ash trays are in excellent condition. This Mustang drives exceptionally well as you would expect for a super low mile vehicle and is a blast to drive. It starts with a flick of the key performing very well and idles perfectly. It steers & tracks perfectly straight when driving and the brakes function perfectly and stop completely straight without any pulling to either side even under hard breaking conditions. A factory style high performance dual exhaust system was added and sounds great with a nice factory V-8 tone but is not loud. All; head lights, tails lights, blinker lights, back up lights, dash lights, flashers, radio light, interior courtesy lights, cigarette lighter, radio, heater, etc.. are in great working condition. From a mechanical stand point, I would not hesitate to drive this Mustang from coast to coast. This vehicle was originally sold new from the Phil Long Ford dealership in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The dealer applied chrome emblem on the rear tail panel is still in place and is in mint condition. I believe the Phil Long dealership may have been a Ford performance vehicle dealer as I have seen a Boss 429, couple Boss 302s and a few 428CJ cars reported as being sold from this dealership. It is clearly evident that this Mustang was meticulously cared for, maintained, and babied from new as the original owner had it for a very long time.I have original owner registration slips that shows the original owner had this Mustang from new until 1980 when heapparentlypassed away at the age of 69. From 1980 on, this Mustang has been in collectors hands. Some desirablefactory style upgrades added over the years such as the H.P. dual exhaust system, correct '66 styled chrome wheels, correct Good-Year Polyglas dual red line tires (including the spare), a wood grain steering wheel, four core radiator all of which are great additions tastefullydone to add to theappearanceand driving pleasure of this Mustang.I think pictures do the best job of reflecting the actual condition of a vehicle so have fun looking at the pictures and call me if you have any questions. I have the pink slip in hand, it is in my name, car is currently registered, insured, and driven often. Inspections by you or a third party are welcomed. I have sold other of my personal collector cars and motorcycles in the past through ebay listings and every one has been extremely happy. Remember this is a survivor, not a restored Mustang so originality is the focus and not perfection. If you want a car free of any flaws, you need to step up and buy a $60K concourse trailered Mustang. If you want an original Mustang that is as flawless as they come for being 50 years old that you can drive than this is a great car for you.
