1930 Ford Model A Additional Info:

This 1930 Ford Model A four door town sedan was in the same family since the early nineteen-fifties. It has been stored inside in good, dry storage its entire life and driven occasionally in parades and local show and shine celebrations. It is an all steel car with one older repaint. The wooden framework inside the doors and throughout this car is extremely solid and never saw moisture, bugs or rot. As far as I know the engine is its original 4 cylinder with a three speed manual floor shift transmission. It starts, runs, shifts, steers, brakes and stop excellently with no issues at all. Thebattery is nearly new, the starter works perfectly, as does the generator and regulator/cut-out. The headlights and tail light work properly as does the brake light. The interior, I believe, is a high quality replacement interior, probably from a kit, but your estimation of it may be more accurate than mine. There is no damage to the interior except for minor cracking in the front floor mat around the emergency brake lever and the gear shift lever. The back seat has a working center fold arm-rest. The speedometer works reasonably accurately, as does the amp-meter gauge although it more noticably shows a negative reading when starting than it does a positive reading while driving, but I don't know about the odometer, so true mileage, obviously, is un-known. I don't know if the gas gauge reads accurately....I've been putting in no more than two gallons of gas at a time, running it out, and then adding more; I don't want to leave it in storage with gasoline to spoil. This car idles and accelerates perfectly. The exterior is extremely solid and nicewith no major dents or dings and scarcely any other parking lot type marks. The paint is obviously many years old, still shines nicely, but has numerous small scratches and mars. I have not attempted to clean or shine this vintage car but do believe it would clean up remarkably if someone so desires. All of the glass is good....no chips, cracks or delamination and the roll-up windows roll up and downsmoothly and easily, and the front windshield swings open as it should. There is a gasoline shut-off valve under the dash; it functions properly. Thecarburetor enricher and choke work smoothly and properly, and the foot-feed as well as the steering-wheel mounted accelerator. We've driven this Model A around our town quite a bit. It doesn't over-heat and starts well cold or warm. There doesn't seem to be any majoror even minor oil leaks and no radiator leaks. The packing on the water pump seeps every so slightly, not enough to add coolant regularly. The mechanical brakes slow and stop this car smoothly without pulling either way or vibrating or shimmying. The tires on this car are almost new and in excellent condition. A local Model A enthusiast says this car has a Briggsbody.
