Overview:

Here is a beautiful 1966 Ford Mustang convertible in excellent condition inside and out. It is a desirable factory C-code 289ci V8 car with an automatic transmission, power steering and front wheel disc brakes. This is an extremely straight and solid, rust free Mustang that was sold new out of the Los Angeles, CA sale office and spent its entire life in California. It even has its original California emissions system under the hood. The car was painted several years ago in beautiful Candy Apple red, which still looks great, and it even has its mostly original interior that looks amazing. The car is showing 39K miles, which could possibly be original, but we do not have paperwork to document that. There are a lot of junk Mustangs out there and even more rusted out ones. This is one few very virtually untouched ones out there with its original floors, sheet metal and never been in an accident. It is a very good car that needs nothing and is ready to drive and enjoy!

Condition Rating:

Category 2: 80-89 points

"FINE - An original car with very low miles that has been meticulously maintained since new; or an older professional restoration that has seen very limited use since restoration. Very close inspection by an expert may detect almost insignificant flaws or wear, but to most enthusiasts the car would look perfect. This car would come within several points of a perfect score when judged, and would receive the top award at a show unless a true Number 1 car were also being judged."

Exterior:

This '66 Mustang looks great and is real eye catcher finished in the best color of candy apple red. The paint is about 10 to 15 years old and shows excellent with a nice smooth finish that shines like a diamond. Upon very close inspection it has a few very minor chips that have been touched up over the years but still looks great. This was an original spring time yellow car from the factory but was completely taken apart and changed to red. They did fantastic color change and it looks like a factory red car. The body is one of the nicest you will find, as it is 99.9 percent completely rust free with all its original sheet metal and floor pans. The only spot I found is a little bubble the size of a dime on the left rear quarter down low which is shown in the video posted. But it is so minor you have to really look to find it. This car has never been hit or hurt as the body fit is excellent and the sides and straight as an arrow. All the chrome and trim on the car is in excellent condition and looks near new. All of the glass and rubbers looks great. It has an excellent white convertible top that looks great with its original black top boot. It is sitting on its correct steel wheels with new simulated style steel wheel hubcaps and brand white wall tires.

Interior:

The black interior looks to be mostly all original and in amazing condition. It has original seat covers and door panels that look excellent. The carpets and the doorsills are all new. The dash and gauge cluster are very bright and clean. The steering wheel is excellent with one hairline crack. It has a fitted AM-FM cassette radio that sounds great and also has a working power antenna. Every single thing works in the car which includes the wipers, horn, gauges, lights, heater and courtesy lights. Inside the trunk is nice and clean with its correct spare, jack and trunk mat.

Mechanically:

The car runs and drives excellent. It was very well maintained from its previous owner. It drives and handles very nice and tight which leads us to believe the miles are original. The car has its correct 289ci 2bbl V8 engine that runs like a top and still has its original California emissions system on it. Under the hood was just recently, fully detailed to show quality condition with all its original decals. The car also looks to have a fairly new exhaust system on it. The front disc brakes ad for great stopping power and the power steering is great driving ease. It is in tiptop shape and is ready to drive and enjoy!
