1939 Ford Truck Additional Info:

This neat little 1939 Ford pickup truck is what fun is all about. Not content to just build one like the other guys, this bright red hauler offers a gorgeous hand-made bed that works in conjunction with a fantastic color scheme to deliver a Blue Oval pickup like none other. The paint is what pickup trucks should wear: bright red. It was a favorite back in the day, despite Henry Ford being against red paints because they were expensive, and nobody will argue that it doesn't look right. It was finished a few years ago and used as intended, so it's no longer a show truck, but the honest look wears well and still holds up to scrutiny. There are a few chips and scratches, of course, but none of them do anything to diminish the appeal of this pickup. The Ford sheetmetal hasn't been modified beyond shaved door handles and glass rear fenders (rest of the body is all steel), so it still wears its original barrel-shaped grille and classic good looks that have remained popular for decades. Nothing has been chopped, so it has an old-fashioned look that's quite appealing, and with the natural lines on the body, it looks like it should cost far more than it does. The bed floor is wood, along with a matching box at the front end (which houses the fuel cell), as well as useful bed rails that really dress things up. Nice chrome, including the bumper and grille, as well as painted Ford V8 details on the tailgate make this truck sparkle. The lipstick red interior is totally custom and a big step up from the original in terms of luxury and comfort. That bench seat is durable, comfortable vinyl and has been stitched to look suitably retro. Matching door panels were created at the same time, along with some custom carpets that are probably showing their age. Big VDO and Sunpro gauges give you the lowdown on the engine department and are installed in a cool wood panel that matches the woodwork in the bed. Other features like A/C, a tilt column, and an AM/FM/CD stereo system with a large touch screen make it feel a lot more modern than you'd think. A fat Grant GT steering wheel is wrapped in red leather that matches the rest of the interior and for those days when you don't quite need the A/C, there's a functioning tilt-out windshield that provides a rather pleasant breeze all by itself. This cool Ford is 100% Blue Oval, complements of a 302 cubic inch V8 living under the hood. It provides the kind of reliable power that a rod like this demands, so you really can drive it anywhere. It's nicely outfitted with a shiny chrome air cleaner and aluminum valve covers, so it has a hot rod look, and the mechanicals are all proven components that offer decent service access. It sports the ubiquitous Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor up top and a custom exhaust system underneath, complete with glasspack-style mufflers and turn downs in the rear fenders. Ford's original frame still lives under this truck, now reinforced and fitted with a Mustang II independent front end with power rack-and-pinion steering and power front disc brakes. The transmission is a C4 3-speed automatic which powers a 9-inch Ford rear end. 14-inch chrome wire wheels are an awesome choice and carry staggered 185/60/14 front and 225/70/14 rear blackwall radials. This is a traditional rod that's built right and is totally sorted out. Trailer queens aren't much fun, but just imagine how entertaining this cool little Ford pickup must be out on the road. Call now!
