1964 Ford Mustang Base Additional Info:

This is a true, early 1964 1/2 Mustang Coupe. It does still have all the parts that differ from a 1965, the proper tapered grill pieces and proper hood. Original "D" Code 289 V8 with Automatic. Has optional backup lights. Engine currently has an Edelbrock carburetor and different intake on it but the original carburetor and intake come with the car. Ignition switch won't engage the starter for some reason so I have started it with a remote switch connected to the solenoid.
The car is covered with surface rust but is pretty straight and solid. Here are the rust issues I have found: Trunk floor around both rear spring hangers is rusted out, visible from inside the trunk. Both rear wheel wells have rust holes (approximately 2-3 inches in diameter) on the front and back near the bottom of the wells. Both rear quarter panels have bondo, passenger side is worse than drivers side, personally I would plan on replacing at least the passenger side if I were going to restore it. One of the front bumper brackets is broken (drivers side), could be repaired but it is a bolt on item so I would probably just replace it.
All glass appears to be original and in great shape. The car is complete, all trim pieces etc. are included. The only items missing are the front and rear bumpers.
The odometer currently reads 105 miles, clearly this is probably over 100,000 miles. Due to the age of the car the West Virginia title reads "Odometer Reading Not Required".
Supposedly the engine had been rebuilt at some point, it is clear that the engine has been worked on. Engine oil and transmission fluid is clean. I know the car had not been run in at least 4 years, I replaced the fuel pump a couple of weeks ago and it fired right up and sounded great, ran very smooth. I believe the interior is original as well. This means the build sheet is most likely somewhere under the carpet. I just haven't had time to look for it.
I purchased this car from a friend of mine who intended on restoring it but decided he wasn't going to have the time to do it. I wish I had the time myself, it wouldn't be a hard restoration, but I informed him that I would just resell the car as is. I believe my reserve price is very reasonable and will allow the next owner to have plenty of room to spend on restoration. I have additional photos that I will be glad to forward on and if there are any specific questions or photos you would like please contact me and I will get the info to you. Thanks!
