1966 Ford F-100 Standard Cab Additional Info:

If you’re like most of us gearheads, you go to countless car shows and take in hundreds of cool classics with the plan of building one head-turning custom that you can REALLY be proud of. Some of us prefer a real survivor truck that was born and lived in a good climate and a state that does not use road salt that would typically damage an old vehicle. This truck has been pampered for 52 years and was treated to a complete high-end frame off restoration in 2012! You can always tell when a truck was pampered as it still has its original matching numbers engine and drivetrain.

I found this truck on the west coast in Washington and lived with the same owner for approximately 51 years. The truck was gently used as by the Brennar family for the entire 51 years. Unfortunately, the original owner passed away and as promised, the family hired a family owned specialist to do a full frame off restoration to honor their dads commitment to the truck. It spent 10 months in the shop and has since been driven only 3400 miles. The family won at least 5 first place prizes:

  • Stanwood Auto Show Sponsors Trophy
  • Classic Ford Show 1st Place
  • Port Gardner Vintage Auto Club Best Paint and First Place Stock Truck
  • Seattle Roadster Show First Place
  • Classic Summer Auto Show 1st Place

Later, they decided it was time to let the truck go and sold it through a broker to me.

When I bought her, she arrived restored to the same exact way it rolled off the factory assembly line. All of her parts were 100% Ford OEM or carbon copies of Ford OEM if they were not available. However, she needed some minor TLC as it was only driven 3400 miles in approximately 5 years. Everything on this truck has been replaced and road tested. List of replaced parts:

·
· Exhaust system and shock absorbers
· Battery
· Battery cables
· Starter Cable
· Starter
· Brake light switch
· Fuel tank sending unit
· New transmission seals
· Master cylinder upgraded to a dual system for safety

· Clutch
· Original radiator was re-cored

BODYWORK/TRIM

· The entire body was removed, media blasted, primed, painted and wet sanded producing a better finish than when it was original built. The paint is near perfect.

· The body appears to have never been hit as the metal is straight as an arrow.

· The frame was also media blasted and finished in factory gloss black. The frame shows zero evidence of any body work and remains laser straight.

· Original Springtime yellow w/ Wimbledon White bumpers and grille

· Frame and body are laser straight. This truck looks 100% straight and drives 100% straight. My antique vehicle body shop was shocked when I first brought the truck to them at how straight it is.

· All new seals/weather stripping

· All original glass except the windshield but still Ford

ENGINE

Prior to its aforementioned tuning, this fun-loving Ford sports its original 6-cylinder 240, 9” rear, and T-18 Borg Warner 4 on the floor transmission. The block was totally rebuilt and well painted in Ford blue. This truck starts cold with ease and runs down the highway like it was brand new. Idles beautifully and you can feel confident driving it back to your garage on the highway. This truck could easily be driven cross country.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

As you can probably tell most of the truck’s latest freshening, completed by Cruisers of Delray Beach, FL, involved replacing any worn parts. The work was minimal as that proven drivetrain rolls on Fords famous Twin I Beam suspension. The original suspension has never been augmented and it drives beautifully. Braking is equally original, with a new dual master cylinder and wheel cylinders. We followed that up with a full brake system bleed. The new cylinders control the original front drums and rear drums. And power meets the pavement through 15” painted steel wheels and brand-new tires. We even have the matching fully restored spare!

INTERIOR

Inside the truck, a stock cockpit painted in its original springtime yellow and Wimbledon white paint. Front and center, a smooth dash and original style gauges in the instrument panel. Opposite that dash, you will find the original bench seat frame covered in a well upholstered black vinyl. At the bottom of those seats, is a molded rubber matt and new firewall insulator. Look up and you will find the original mirror, new headliner, new original visors. Near perfect inside.

SUMMARY

This is a near perfect truck that lived a beautiful life in Oregon and now lives in Boca Raton, FL. It has been treated to a $35,000 restoration approximately 5 years ago and has been driven 400 miles or less since. I would happily allow and encourage all bidders to have the vehicle inspected as I am confident that the report will be total shock and awe like when I saw it for the first time.
